Objectively speaking, the list of attractions and entertainment Adler is quite modest. To be more precise, after disconnecting from it Sirius village (Imereti resort) directly in the resort area of Adler along the coast there are no attractions at all. That's right, we didn't mix anything up. Now the Olympic Park, singing fountains, Park "Southern cultures" and other attractions of Imereti do not belong to Adler.
But all these territorial subtleties have little to do with tourists, and therefore from Adler you can still easily visit all the interesting places of Imereti or go on your own or with excursions to more distant places of Greater Sochi. See more:
As in any other resort of Sochi (after all, Adler is a district of Sochi), a wide variety of excursions to the sights of Greater Sochi, as well as to Abkhazia, is offered. There are informative sightseeing tours to historical sites, active recreation with visits to natural places and, in the end, simply organized trips to amusement parks.
Many attractions and entertainment do not accept bank cards when paying for admission, so be sure to have a supply of cash. Payment for excursions is also most often accepted only in cash.
And by the way, we have prepared a selection of Adler attractions that can be visited completely free of charge.
Excursions in Adler are sold at every turn. You can safely buy them from distributors on the streets, from hotel guides (if you travel with tour operators) or order online, but still there are some subtleties with the choice. So, some sellers deliberately underestimate the base price, indicating a purely symbolic price of 200 rubles per tour, but in fact, entrance fees, meals, tastings and so on are added to this cost. As a result, the initially designated cost may increase tenfold. Therefore, carefully check the description and check everything with the seller. The most reliable option in this case is to buy an excursion, where everything is already included. We also recommend buying excursions online on these trusted sites:

- 📷 search for excursions in Adler on Tripster.ru

But if you've never been to a tunnel aquarium, it's definitely worth a visit. In addition to the tunnel with a length of 44 meters, there are 30 large aquariums with underwater inhabitants, and the "highlight" is a show with mermaids and feeding sharks. Excursion to the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana
Observation deck on Krasnaya Polyana During your vacation in Sochi, we advise you to go on an excursion or independently to the mountain resorts of Krasnaya Polyana. There are three of these resorts in total: Rosa Khutor, Krasnaya Polyana (aka Gorki-the city or village of Estosadok) and Gazprom. Each of them has lifts to the peaks and its own attractions. The culmination of the excursions is the ascent on one of the lifts into the mountains, from where you can enjoy stunning views of the snow caps. And if you go up at the beginning of the beach season, you can even walk in the snow and play snowballs. You can choose from excursions with a review of one or all three resorts and a climb to one of the observation decks on the cable car. We advise you to choose the highest, and not limited to 900 meters:
- In the resort "Krasnaya Polyana" - 2375 meters for 1390 rubles, and 850 rubles for children.
- In the resort "Rosa Khutor" - 2320 meters for 1590 rubles, and 950 rubles for children.
- At the resort "Gazprom" - 2256 meters for 1400 rubles, and 800 rubles for children.

- Trains - the fastest transport, we recommend it. One-way fare from 280 rubles. You need to go to the stations "Estosadok" or "Rosa Khutor", see the schedule for Rosa Khutor station is here.
- Buses they are cheaper (routes 105, 105E, 535, 535e, 219), but we do not recommend them, because you have to spend almost 2 hours on the road in one direction, besides, you can get seasick from unaccustomed.
- Taxi from Adler and Sirius will cost about 1400 rubles for the whole car. You can save money if you use the services of private taxi drivers who are "on duty" near important bus stops and ask for a trip of 250 rubles per person.
- Personal transport we do not recommend it, because upstairs there are big problems with parking. Paid parking costs from 200 rubles / hour.
Upon arrival at the top of the resorts, you can walk on foot and buy tickets for the lift yourself, or again buy sightseeing tours that will be offered to you by distributors at the train station and near the bus stop.

Akhshtyr cave
Akhshtyr cave It will not please you with bizarre formations of stalactites and stalagmites, will not surprise you with its gigantic size. Nevertheless, it is known and remarkable for the artifacts found in it during excavations: the remains of a cave bear, which was supposedly eaten by Neanderthals; traces of charcoal fires; remains of tools of ancient people. Unfortunately, you will not see anything found during the visit. This is just a cave with equipped paths (decking) and lighting, and nothing more. At the entrance to the stands there is a brief "dry" information about the finds and historical layers. As a result, walking along it without a tour guide, or if you are not an archaeologist yourself, is not at all interesting. In our opinion (the authors of the site), the cost of visiting is clearly overstated. Learn more about Akhshtyrskaya cave here.

Akhshtyr Gorge (canyon)
Akhshtyr gorge Some pseudo-guides on the Internet describe the Akhshtyr Gorge (canyon) as one of the most notable sights of Sochi and an incredible creation of nature. In our opinion (the authors of the site) these are rather advertising exaggerations. In fact, the Akhshtyr Canyon is just a long deep gorge (about 200 Meters) formed by the Mzymta River in the rocks, and one of the stopping points for a few minutes during group excursions, and nothing more. Therefore, it makes no sense to visit the Akhshtyr Gorge as an independent natural attraction, since a long trip to it from Adler or the center of Sochi is not worth it. But around it there are several interesting places that can be visited in the complex. This is a suspension bridge and extreme amusement park SkyPark, Akhshtyr cave, Dzykhrin waterfall Akhshtyr Lake. Learn more about the Akhshtyr gorge here.

Chvizhepse mineral spring and bear corner
Free mineral spring This narzan mineral spring is the only one in Sochi, the water of which is officially recognized as therapeutic, and as stated by the guides, has a "rejuvenating effect". You can drink water from a cup and even pick it up with you. But if you are traveling on your own, and not on a tour bus in a group, you can drink mineral water for FREE. To do this, you need to drive further after the tourist source of 1.3 kilometers, and go over the bridge to the free source.

Deep pit or Dragon's mouth
Waterfall deep Yar or Dragon's mouth This is one of the highest waterfalls in Sochi and in the entire Krasnodar Territory, its height is more than 41 meters. It is formed by the waters of the deep Yar River near the place of its confluence with the Mzymta. What is remarkable is that it consists of the upper part (this is a visible waterfall that breaks off the cliff) and underground (water comes out at the bottom from a crevice in the rock). The underground part is called The Deep Yar cave, but it is impossible to visit it, because it is filled with water. From the cave, water is taken into pipes for water supply. At the foot of the waterfall there is a pool in which theoretically you can plunge, but the depth is small, and the water is icy Even in summer. Learn more about the waterfall Glubokij Yar or Dragon's mouth here.

But even if you come here on your own transport, from the nearest parking lot you will have to go to the entrance (ticket office) one kilometer along an un equipped and unmarked route along the river under railway bridges and overpasses. On Yandex map editor in apps like Organic Maps or OSM this route is marked. After the ticket office to the waterfall will go down a couple of hundred meters on the equipped stairs.

Vorontsov caves
Vorontsovskaya cave If you really choose a cave to visit in Sochi, we would definitely recommend this one. Of course, we are talking about the choice among caves equipped for tourist visits, and not about Speleological caves for professionals or advanced enthusiasts. The system of Vorontsov caves is the most branched and Extended of them. The investigated part of the passages has a length of more than 11 kilometers. For tourists, only a small part of the entire length is available. But this is enough to get a lot of impressions and make beautiful photos. The halls are filled with bizarre stalactites and stalagmites, the ceiling and floor are connected by columns formed over millions of years from fused stalactites and stalagmites. Psaho Dry Canyon
Psaho Dry Canyon An easy hiking route along the bottom of the dry Psaho Canyon is one of the most beautiful and unique in its origin. It is believed that it was formed about 150 million years ago, when these lands were the bottom of the ancient Tethys Ocean. It is a crevice in the rocks with a width of 2 to 7 meters, and the height of the walls in the highest places reaches 20 meters, which is approximately equal to the height of a seven-story house. Its length is about 400 meters. At the bottom of this crevice passes this simple tourist route lasting 20-30 minutes. It can be visited in conjunction with the wet Psaho Canyon. You can get here yourself by two routes through both villages by private car or buses No. 131 from the railway station Adler and No. 128 from the Av station Khosta. Wet Psaho Canyon
Wet Psaho Canyon This is a hiking route of the Sochi National Park along the gorge formed on the mountain river Psakho, a tributary of the Kudepsta River. The Psakho River is low-water, in autumn and winter it turns into a stream, but for millions of years its waters have washed a beautiful canyon with water slides, small waterfalls and washouts in the rock. Nature decorated the banks with red boxwood, hung with thick moss. The route is equipped in the form of wooden bridges with railings 200 meters long, it can be completed in 10 minutes. Despite the enthusiastic descriptions of the wet Psaho Canyon in commercial guidebooks, we will not recommend it for a mandatory visit. In our opinion, there are more interesting hiking trails of the National Park. But you can visit two canyons at once-the wet and dry Psaho Canyon. Canyon white rocks and Navalishchenskoe gorge
White rocks and Navalishchenskoe gorge This is a natural attraction and one of the most beautiful places in the Khosta region of Sochi. We definitely recommend a visit if you are staying for a holiday in central Sochi and in the resorts to the South (Matsesta, Khosta, Adler, Sirius). However, almost all pseudo-guidebooks on the internet give incorrect information about the gorge and how to visit it, apparently reprinting "tourist fake" each other. The gorge itself as a tourist attraction is often confused by guidebooks with the cafe and Recreation Area of the same name, which are located at the end of the gorge downstream. But the real tourist route is in a completely different place. It is called the "White Rocks tourist route" of the Sochi National Park, the entrance to it is paid. You can pass it by a short way, which will take about an hour. But we advise you to take a more interesting circular route, which will take 2-3 hours without stopping to rest. Yew-boxwood Grove
Yew-boxwood Grove This is one of the most popular one-day hiking trails in beautiful natural places. Its popularity is due to its convenient location (easily accessible by Transport and with excursions to Khosta, Adler, Sirius, the center of Sochi), beautiful views, as well as a variety of attractions along the route.
The visit is paid, 300 rubles. You can walk in a large (1 hour) or small circle (2-4 hours), along the route "into the depths of the centuries", or all at once. Along the way you will see a sinkhole, several beams, a cave, a clearing, a spring, a giant Yew, a labyrinth in a stone fault, the ruins of a Byzantine fortress (in fact, only the foundation and a pile of stones). Along it there is a hiking trail with stairs and railings, the banks are decorated with dense green forest, including relic boxwood and trees hung with clusters of beautiful moss. This is both a paid and free attraction. The fact is that part of the canyon is part of a paid tourist route along the Yew-boxwood Grove, the trail is called "into the depths of the centuries". Temple-fortress of IX century and eco-trail "Abaski"
Ruins of the temple-fortress The paid Eco-Trail "Abaski" runs between the popular Glubokiy Yar waterfall and the Akhtsu Recreation Center, its length is 1200 meters. Therefore, we highly recommend passing it in conjunction with a visit to the waterfall, and especially just for a walk along the trail, we would not recommend going here. The trail is fairly easy to visit, with no sharp ascents or descents. There is a very steep climb only from the waterfall to the fortress, but more on that below. All 1200 meters can be easily walked in 20-30 minutes with stops. You will pass a rocky site, an ancient burial of ubykhs (in fact, just stones), an aspen grove, monakhovo Lake and several other notable places, a special place among which is occupied by the temple-fortress of the IX century on the mountain. On the route there are signs with the designations of notable places. Read more about the IX century fortress temple and the abaski eco-trail here.

Abandoned sanatorium Ordzhonikidze
Main view of the resort This is one of the iconic architectural sights of Sochi, the heritage of the USSR. The complex of several buildings and extensive well-groomed territory at one time has been in disrepair since 2010. Today it has become a place of attraction for tourists for walks and photo shoots. We would not include this attraction in the number of mandatory visits during a holiday in the resorts of Sochi, but if you have already looked at everything and have nothing to do, then you can look here, especially since it is not difficult to get to it from almost any place in Greater Sochi. Inspection of the sanatorium is possible only from the outside, you can not go inside the buildings. The visit will take 10-20 minutes. Learn more about the Ordzhonikidze sanatorium here.
Practical Information
🕐 Working hours: Around the clock, it is better to visit in the afternoon before sunset. Attention! The sanatorium is closed to the public due to reconstruction. Mount Akhun
View of Mount Ahun This is a natural and architectural landmark at the same time, and the highest observation deck in Sochi. The height of the summit is 663 meters. At the top is an observation tower with a height of 30.5 meters, built in 1936 and recognized as an architectural monument of federal significance. The tower can be climbed for a fee of 100 rubles, there is a panoramic observation deck. Also near the top there are the ruins of a chic restaurant of the Soviet period, which can be viewed for free. For the entertainment of tourists, a ferris wheel "peak 701" and other entertainment was installed here. The mountain with the tower is a traditional "tourist trap" for luring money from tourists who are brought to the top by large excursion buses. But, in our opinion, it is much more interesting to visit it yourself in the form of an easy hiking route. This route can be done within one day from any resort, having previously reached here by public or private transport. Learn more about Mount Akhun and how to visit it here.
Practical Information
🕐 Working hours: Mount Ahun can be visited at any time, but it is wise to do so only during daylight hours. The observation deck on the tower is open from 09:00 to 21:00 (in winter it can be reduced), the ferris wheel is open from 10:00 to 17:00.
