By plane

Abkhazia does not have a functioning passenger airport, so you should get here by plane through Sochi International Airport in Adler (airport on the map), which is located just 10 kilometers from the Psou checkpoint on the border with Abkhazia. How to get from Sochi (Adler) airport to Abkhazia

From Sochi airport to the resorts of Abkhazia can be reached in several ways, but the only non-stop-ordering a transfer by taxi or minivan. Moving by bus or train can take almost the whole day, and you will have to make several transfers:

• By taxi from the airport

By bus

From the regions of Russia in the summer, bus tours to Abkhazia are offered. They are sold by carriers or organized by tour operators. Travel by bus is a little cheaper than by train, but in terms of convenience and time is much inferior, so we recommend using this option only as a last resort.

The road to the border runs along the Black Sea coast through the cities of Greater Sochi, and this is the only way here.
