What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting

Tourist route "Wet Canyon Psakho" Sochi National Park passes through the gorge formed on the mountain river Psakho, a tributary of the Kudepsta River. The Psakho River is low-water, in autumn and winter it turns into a stream, but for millions of years its waters have washed a beautiful canyon with water slides, small waterfalls and washouts in the rock. Nature decorated the banks with red boxwood, hung with thick moss.

The tourist route is equipped in the form of wooden bridges with railings with a length of 200 meters, it can be completed in 10 minutes. Despite the enthusiastic descriptions of the wet Psaho Canyon in commercial guidebooks as a place of unprecedented beauty and a must-visit, we will not recommend it for a mandatory visit. In our opinion, there are more interesting hiking routes of the National Park, for example Agur gorge with Eagle Rocks, or white rocks and Navalishchenskoe Gorge. In addition, in 2021, the entrance fee for the routes of the National Park immediately doubled from 100 rubles to 200. But, of course, it's up to you to decide whether a ten-minute walk is worth 200 rubles or not.

But it's quite another matter if you are ready to visit two canyons at once – Mokry and Psaho Dry Canyon. Then you will have to pay only once for admission, and the pleasure will last for several hours. To pass such a route, you need good shoes, drinking water, and a willingness to climb stones. But do not worry, climbing is not necessary. So, at the end of the wooden path along the wet Canyon, you have to go down the metal stairs down to the river. There is a sign that it is dangerous and can not go down, but you have to ignore it at your own risk. After two kilometers of walking along the river, you will reach a small waterfall, where there will be a rise and exit into a Dry Canyon. After passing through it, you will exit the route through the Dry Canyon ticket office. If you come to the entrance to the wet Canyon on your transport, you will have to return to it on foot two kilometers along the dirt road through the fields.
