It seems that there is no difference when it is better to visit the sights and entertainment in Sochi, but not everything is so clear.

• For the summer months it's the height of the tourist season, and that's good. That at this time a huge number of inexpensive excursions are offered. Yes, and the trips and walks to interesting places are much more comfortable in the warm season. However, the bad thing is that all the entertainment and attractions are crowded with tourists, and sometimes it is simply impossible to take a normal photo without "guests" in the frame, or even have to wait in line at the entrance. In addition, the bad thing is that in the summer (especially in July and August) most of the waterfalls and mountain rivers dry up.
• Spring and autumn - this is a great time for easy day trips to natural attractions in Sochi, as in the spring the waterfalls are filled with water, and in the fall Nature reveals golden colors in all its glory. And at this time there are not very many tourists.
• Winter – this is not the time for a beach holiday, but those who want to change the situation or go skiing in the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana still go to Sochi.   🚶 How to get there: located on the outskirts of Central Sochi at Kurortny Prospekt, 74, formally it is the territory of the Khostinsky district (Arboretum entrance on the map. The main entrance and ticket offices are located on Kurortny Prospekt. You can get there on almost any bus plying between the center of Sochi and Adler.

• Navaginskaya pedestrian street

  

  There are several pedestrian zones in Sochi, and Navaginskaya Street among them is the best place for walking in the center. It stretches from the very center in the area of the railway station and reaches the embankment near the Sea station. Along it there is a gallery of cafes and shops, and the alley itself is decorated with palm trees, flower beds, sculptures, with which tourists love to be photographed. • Riviera Park

  

  This is the main entertainment park of Sochi with children's and extreme attractions, a ferris wheel, a dolphinarium, a crocodile show, a mini-aquarium, a Penguins, a mini-zoo, a butterfly tail, alleys for walking and Recreation, several mini-museums, a fear room. The park is very large in area (but not in the amount of entertainment), and going here with the whole family you should plan to spend half a day on it, and, of course, a lot of money. Unfortunately, there are very few extreme attractions for older children and adults, and many of them are often on prevention. So, at the height of the season in July 2021, there was not a single extreme attraction that could be of interest to older children or adults.   🚶 How to get there: Riviera Park is located on the Right Bank of the Sochi River near the center (Riviera Park on the map. We do not advise you to go by private transport, because there is simply nowhere to park nearby. • Sochi Dolphinarium

  

  No major Black Sea resort can be without a dolphinarium, and the center of Sochi is no exception. The indoor year-round Sochi Dolphinarium hosts a classic show several times a day with the participation of Black Sea Dolphins, white whales and a sea lioness. Without visiting such a show, you simply can not leave the resort, especially if you are with children. And if finances allow, you can experience unforgettable impressions and get charged with emotions from swimming or diving with dolphins. • Drinking pump room in the "Riviera"

  

  Drinking pump room is not that an attraction or entertainment, but a place worth visiting. Here you can drink absolutely free of charge or take with you the therapeutic and dining mineral water from the Plastunsky spring. Water is extracted not directly here in the park, but from a well from a depth of 550 meters in the Khostinsky district, and is delivered to the pump room. Nevertheless, it retains all its medicinal properties, information about which is posted on the stand inside the pump room. Since water is a therapeutic canteen, there are no contraindications for it, and you can drink it in any quantities, of course within reasonable limits.

• Sochi Art Museum

  The main collection of the D. D. Zhilinsky Sochi art museum consists of sections Russian art of the XIX-XXI centuries, antique silver and cold weapons, graphics of the XIX-XXI centuries, Russian expanses (painting of the XX century), and temporary exhibitions of contemporary artists and Classics are held here. • Historic boulevard

  

  Historical Boulevard is sometimes called "secret Boulevard", although, of course, there is nothing secret in it, and many tourists walk along it, not even suspecting that this is a landmark. In general, historically this place has always been called "upper embankment", and today a pedestrian route called "historical Boulevard" has been conditionally organized here. This is a walking route in the center of Sochi, which runs from the Sea station to the Winter theater, but not along the embankment, but parallel to it and a little higher. A few years ago there were abandoned footpaths, but now they have been updated and equipped, signatures have been installed to historical sights and monuments, signs, a route map and even QR codes in the most interesting places so that you can get more information about them.   🚶 How to get there: Historical Boulevard stretches from the Sea station to the Winter theater for one and a half kilometers (Historic boulevard on the map. Getting to the start of the route from anywhere in the center is easy on foot. From remote resorts and areas of Sochi it is easier to get here as part of a sightseeing tour, including a walk along the boulevard. If you want to do it yourself, you can take the train to the railway station in the center of Sochi and from there walk to the boulevard on foot, take a taxi or buses. Directly to the historical Boulevard you can also take any bus from Adler to the center of Sochi.

• Sochi Sea Terminal

  

  This is one of the symbols of the city and an important point for reference, an architectural landmark of federal significance. The building of the sea station was opened in 1955, and the work was carried out under the supervision of famous Soviet architects K. S. Alabyan and L. B. Karlik. For tourists today, this is a beautiful majestic building, from where many tourist "adventures" begin. So, here starts a new walking route along the historical Boulevard, from here begins the main embankment of Sochi and the city beaches. • Boat trips

You can go on a standard hour-long walk to the open sea with a large group of tourists, during which you will admire Sochi from the sea, listen to a standard lecture on the history of the resort, and if you are lucky, you will see dolphins. • Cathedral Of The Archangel Michael

  

  This is the oldest Orthodox Church in Sochi, built from 1874 to 1891. During the periods of Soviet power, it was closed for a short time from 1931 to 1944, and was used as a warehouse. In 1944 it was returned to believers, and in 1981 it received the status of a state monument of cult architecture.

  The Church of the Holy equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir is a modern church. Its construction began in 2004, and was completed only in 2011. But for its short history, the temple managed to become one of the symbols of the city and its "calling card". This is not at all surprising, because the temple is very beautiful and sparkles very brightly with domes in sunny weather. It creates an even greater impression due to its location on a hill.

• Orekhovsky waterfall

  

  This is one of the closest to the center, and the second highest in all of Sochi. The height of its two cascades is 27 meters, which roughly corresponds to the height of an eight – story house. It is easily accessible by city buses, private car or with a tour, and go a little on foot directly to the waterfall itself. • Abandoned sanatorium Ordzhonikidze

  

  This is one of the iconic architectural sights of Sochi, the heritage of the USSR. The complex of several buildings and an extensive well-groomed territory at one time has been in disrepair since 2010. Today it has become a place of attraction for tourists for walks and photo shoots. We would not include this attraction in the number of mandatory visits during a holiday in the resorts of Sochi, but if you have already looked at everything and have nothing to do, then you can look here, especially since it is not difficult to get to it from almost any place in Greater Sochi.   🚶 How to get there: the sanatorium is located on the territory of the Khostinsky District of Sochi, 6 kilometers from the city center and 10 kilometers from Khosta itself (sanatorium on the map). It is very easy to visit from any resort of Greater Sochi, since it is located next to the main coastal road at Kurortny Prospekt, 96. almost all city buses connecting the resorts of Sochi pass along this road. These are the Routes №№ 2, 3, 41, 43, 48, 50, 86, 90, 105, 105C, 115, 120, 121, 125p, 125C, go to the stop "Sanatorium im. Ordzhonikidze". Most sightseeing tours of Central Sochi make a stop here.

• Zmeikovsky waterfalls

  

  Zmeikovsky is a cascade of four waterfalls located for about one kilometer on the Dikarka River. They are located in the vicinity of Central Sochi, 20 kilometers by road, but in fact this is already the territory of the Khostinsky district, so it is convenient to visit them both from the center and from Khosta, Adler or Sirius. To see all the waterfalls, you need to go a simple hiking route along the canyon and along the riverbed. There are four large waterfalls here, and between them there are several small water slides and waterfalls. The most beautiful and larger is the farthest, and it is worth setting aside a couple of hours to go to it. It is best to go here for half a day and plan a vacation in nature with a picnic and swimming in refreshing water in natural pools on the river or at the foot of waterfalls.   Azhek Waterfalls

  

  Azhek is a chain of several waterfalls and water slides on the Azhek River, a tributary of the Sochi River. They are relatively close to the center of Sochi, only 20 kilometers away, but they are among the most inaccessible. To visit them, you will have to go on a small hiking trip through the forest along a route of medium difficulty with a length of 6 kilometers, and first you still have to get to the beginning of this hiking route. You can get to it by car or by city bus, but then another 2 kilometers from the stop will be added to The Walking part of the route. For reference, the time from the parking lot to the first (lower) waterfall on foot in both directions should be laid at least 3 hours.   🕐 Working hours: in the daytime, it is better to visit in spring or early summer.

  💵 Entrance fee / tickets price: to pass through the Eco-trail, you must pay the national park fee of 200 rubles, children under 10 years old-free of charge. Payment is made at the ticket office at the beginning of the route, only cash is accepted.

  🚶 How to get there: Azhek waterfalls are located 20 kilometers from the center of Sochi behind the village of Plastunka (AZEK waterfalls on the map. First you need to get to the beginning of the walking route, and then to the waterfalls only on foot along the equipped Eco-trail of the Sochi National Park.
