When traveling in the Crimea, you can often find offers for accommodation in boathouses. But not even all experienced tourists know what it is.
Boathouses are structures for building, repairing, or storing ships ashore. But do not be alarmed, no one offers you to live among the repaired boats.
In fact, boathouses in the Crimea for tourists are comfortable accommodation on the very first line by the sea. And therefore, such accommodation is very much appreciated among experienced tourists as a place from where you can not only go directly to the beach or embankment, but also get a wonderful view of the sea. And all this for a reasonable fee, since often boathouses, as housing, are rented by private owners, and are not hotels.
Usually Boathouses are multi-storey buildings, standing very close to each other. They are separated from the beach or embankment by a narrow road at most, and in some places there is accommodation even with access directly to the beach or concrete embankment. Although recently there were boathouses in several rows, i.e. behind the first line across the road there is another line of boathouses, of course, without a view of the sea.
In Crimea there are whole villages or tourist areas of boathouses. This is, for example, the famous resort the village of Utes or the area the village of Privetnoe.
Of course, accommodation in this type of Housing has its drawbacks, and not everyone likes it. First, it is often private housing, not hotels, and, as a result, a minimum of Service and no own territory. Parking for cars is usually located outside the boathouse areas, because there is simply no space. Due to the lack of territory, such areas resemble close Asian neighborhoods, in which there are no passages between the houses, and no greenery.
