Psaho Dry Canyon – this is a tourist one-day walking route through the territory of the Sochi National Park, one of the most beautiful and unique in its origin. It is believed that it was formed about 150 million years ago, when these lands were the bottom of the ancient Tethys Ocean. As a result of the movement of tectonic plates forming the ocean floor, this fault was formed. After millions of years, the rocks Rose, and a river flowed through the canyon, which eventually found another way, and the Canyon became dry. But evidence that it was once the bottom of the ocean has come down to our days: fossilized prints of marine mollusks and shells have been found here.
So, the Dry Canyon is a crevice in the rocks with a width of 2 to 7 meters, and the height of the walls in the highest places reaches 20 meters, which is approximately equal to the height of a seven-story house. Its length is about 400 meters. At the bottom of this crevice passes this simple tourist route lasting 20-30 minutes. The views along the route are fascinating, and you will also see several grottoes and crevices in the rocks, from where the cool air comes out. At the end of the route will be the current bed of the Psaho River and a small waterfall.
How to visit Dry Canyon
The entrance to The Dry Canyon is through the ticket office of the National Park, how to get to it, see below. Almost immediately after the ticket office you will get on the route along the bottom of the canyon. After 400 meters, it will lead you to the Psakho River, which in summer is a thin stream, or even completely dry. Actually, this is where the entire official tourist route ends. Here you can take a little walk along the Psakho, look at the waterfall and turn back to the exit to the ticket office.
Well, if you are ready for new adventures, you can continue further along the river to the left or upstream, and then you will get to another equipped tourist route – wet Canyon Psaho. You will have to go more than two kilometers along a difficult path, in some places you will have to climb stones. But in principle, this hike will not be very difficult, you just need to have comfortable shoes for such conditions and a supply of drinking water. Do not interfere with the Navigator or smartphone with installed offline maps like OSM or Organic Maps trails are drawn in them. Use online maps here will not work, there is no connection. As a result, having passed this way, you will go to the exit through the entrance ticket office of the wet Canyon, but you will not need to pay for the passage, because you will go out. If you got to the entrance to The Dry Canyon on your transport, you will have to go back there on foot, go 2 kilometers along the dirt road.

🚶 How to get there
the entrance and ticket office to The Dry Canyon are located between the villages of Galitsyno and Krasnaya Volya, 25 kilometers from Adler and 50 from the center of Sochi (Dry Canyon entrance on the map. It is easiest to visit with guided tours, but since the Dry Canyon is not as popular as the wet one, inexpensive group tours are not sold here. At least, we did not meet such. There are only expensive individual tours on Jeeps, ATVs and horses.
You can get here yourself by two routes through both villages. Which one to choose depends on your transport and place of departure.
Attention! According to information that has not yet been verified by us, it is now impossible to drive up on your own transport directly to the entrance to The Dry Canyon, a barrier has been installed.

From Adler and Sirius it is more convenient to get through Galicino. By car you can get to the entrance and ticket offices, but the road here is unpaved and difficult, especially the last few hundred meters. In extreme cases, you can drive as far as you can, leave the car on the side of the road and continue to the entrance on foot. If you do not have your own transport, you can take the bus bus number 131. It departs from the railway station of Alera, passes through the Stop "Shopping Center" New Century" (convenient to transfer to it from Sirius), through the airport. It costs 74 rubles, runs every hour and a half from 06:00 to 19:00, The Last Bus from the village at 20 hours (check the schedule on the spot). You need to go to the center of the village of Golitsyno, and then you have to walk more than 4 kilometers to the entrance. Along the way, you will pass by the entrance to the wet Canyon.

From the center of Sochi and from Khosta you can get through the village of Krasnaya Volya. True, to get there by car, you will have to Ford the Kudepsta River along Vinogradnaya Street in the village. If you can not overcome it by car, then you can leave the car and walk 2 kilometers to the entrance. By bus through Krasnaya Volya you can get on Route No. 128 from the bus station and the railway station Khosta. Travel costs 29 rubles, departure to 07:15, 08:50, 12:30, 14:50, 16:15, 17:22, 19:40, 20:50. Upon arrival at the final stop in the village from it to the ticket office will have to walk 4.5 kilometers.
