Adler is located on the southern outskirts of Greater Sochi, 30 kilometers from the city center (Adler on the map). This is the most convenient area among the Sochi resorts in terms of getting here from other cities and regions of the Russian Federation, as well as from abroad. In general, we can confidently say that Adler is the main transport hub of Sochi, because it is here that the International Airport and a large modern railway station are located. Also, it is not difficult to get to Adler from anywhere in Greater Sochi by city buses or trains.

The easiest and most profitable way to get to Adler on vacation is ready – made tours. Most often, ready-made tours are cheaper than buying tickets and booking hotels yourself. By plane to Adler

The International Airport of Sochi named after V. I. Sevastianov, or simply Adler airport, is the largest airport in the region by passenger traffic. In 2015, it was even recognized as one of the best European airports in terms of Service. Airport website - https://aer.aero/

There are flights from Moscow, St. Petersburg, a large number of regions of the Russian Federation. There are international flights, but the Foreign route network is modest. During the high season, many direct flights from the regions are added, but they are not always cheaper than flights with a transfer through Moscow. So if you really need to save money, we advise you not to refuse transfers.

How to get from the airport to Adler

The airport is only a couple of kilometers from the center of Adler (airport on map) and some hotels can even be reached on foot. Also from the airport you can get cheap by taxi, city buses, or rent transport, including per-minute carsharing. There are also high-speed trains (Aeroexpress) from here, which are very convenient to get to more remote resorts in Sochi, for example, to the center, in Lazarevskoye, Krasnaya Polyana, etc. But there is no point in using trains to get to the hotel in Adler.

• Taxi

  You can order a taxi at the official counter in the arrivals hall (500 USD) or through the applications of aggregators Yandex.Taxi, Uber, Gett and Citymobil (about 200 rubles to the center). When ordering a taxi through aggregators, it is likely that the delivery of the car will have to wait an hour or more, which is especially critical when traveling to the airport by the time of departure. So apply for a car with time to spare, especially in the high tourist season. You can quickly leave using the services of "bombed" in the arrivals hall, but they ask for twice as much as a trip on the counter.

  If you want to avoid problems with taxi delays, you can pre-order a ready-made tourist transfer by car or minivan with a meeting with the driver at the airport. You can order a transfer from kiwitaxi or intui.travel. Just keep in mind that a short-distance transfer will cost more, so it is better to use it for long and long trips.

• City buses

  The bus stop is located immediately at the exit from the arrivals hall on the lower level. Payment of the fare at the entrance to the driver by card or cash. The cost starts from 28 rubles and depends on the distance, so you need to name the Place, Hotel or destination area. There are the following flights:

  • No. 557. passes through the entire center of Adler to the railway station, and then to the village of Sirius past Olympic Park.
  • No. 558. first goes to the railway station, then to the "resort town" and only then returns to the center of the resort. Ends the movement at the checkpoint "Psou" in Abkhazia.

By train to Adler

Adler has a large modern railway station (Adler station on the map), which all trains from Moscow and other regions reach in the direction of Sochi. So if there are trains from your city to Sochi, then they go to this station.

Check the schedule and buy tickets better on the official website of Russian Railways or at the ticket offices of the city. When buying through the site, it is better to first register in the Russian Railways bonus system in order to save points for the next trips.

How to get from the railway station Adler to the place of rest

The station is located almost in the very center of the resort, so if you are light, you can walk to the accommodation nearby even on foot. If the hotel is located far away, you can get there by taxi or city buses.

• Taxi

• City buses

  • 🕐 travel time: 10-30 minutes.

  Near the station there are two bus stops: one on Prosveshchenie street (from the embankment), the other on Lenin Street. Both stops have an exit from the station building. We recommend going to Lenin Street, because there are more routes.

  It makes no sense to list all the routes and where they follow, because there are too many of them. Suggest it is better to use a travel planner, Google maps, Bing, Yandex, 2GIS, or just ask the bus driver.

• Trains

  • 💵 cost: from 40 rubles.

  Directly in Adler by train you will not get anywhere, there are too small distances. Unless you can get to the stop "Izvestia", if your hotel is located in the Microdistrict "Resort town". But if you need to get to the village of Sirius, Krasnaya Polyana, Khost, the airport, the center of Sochi, then this is the fastest option, since it bypasses traffic jams. True, trains do not run on a schedule very often.

By bus to Adler

Theoretically, you can get to Adler by bus from Moscow and neighboring regions, but we do not recommend this method. Long bus rides are very tiring, and especially the last two hundred kilometers on the section after Dzhubga along the coast are exhausting. You have to go along the serpentines and stand in traffic for a long time, so not everyone can withstand this trip, especially children and the elderly with a weakened vestibular apparatus.

If you really need to get by bus, then we would advise you to go not directly to Adler, but to Krasnodar, Goryachy Klyuch or Tuapse, and then transfer to more comfortable and fast trains. For comparison, during the summer season in the afternoon, a bus ride from Tuapse to Adler can go up to 5 hours, to Dzhubga even more. And the train goes a little more than two hours.

There is no intercity bus station in Adler, there is only a stop "Lavrovaya" on Lenin Street, it is near the railway station (stop on map). Some buses reach the railway station, and some make a stop at the "Lavrov" and continue to the checkpoint "Psou" on the border with Abkhazia.

By car to Adler

Distance to Adler from cities/regions of the Russian Federation on the highway:

By car from Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities of the Western (European) part of the Russian Federation is the fastest and safest way to get along the M4-don toll Federal Highway. The fare on it will be from 1720 rubles. For all information about toll booths and payment procedures, see on the Rosavtodor website. You can bypass the paid sections of the M4 on free roads, but then you will spend an additional few hours, since you will have to go through settlements with traffic jams.

The most difficult part of the way in 200 kilometers will have to pass after Dzhubga. At the height of the tourist season, it can take up to 8 hours to travel due to constant traffic jams and serpentine roads. The situation is especially difficult on the section from Dzhubga to Tuapse and from Tuapse to the center of Sochi, so if possible, plan to travel here at night or early in the morning. Alternatively, you can go around the Dzhubga-Tuapse section through the Shahumyan pass. This road is 75 kilometers longer, and through the pass you have to drive 7 kilometers on a terribly dusty and uncomfortable Macadam road. If you decide to go through the pass, then the decision on the detour should be made in Krasnodar or, in extreme cases, in Goryachy Klyuch, later on the detour will not turn off.

Refueling in the resorts of Sochi is best at branded network gas stations Lukoil, Rosneft, Gazpromneft. In Adler there are gas stations of all these brands. The price of gasoline, as usual in the South, is higher by 5-10% than in other regions of the European part of the Russian Federation.

During rest and travel to attractions in Adler, of course, there will be a question about where to park the car. In general, parking is difficult here, there are very few places for free parking, so even at the stage of booking a hotel or accommodation, check the availability of parking nearby. Usually, accommodation facilities indicate this in the description in booking systems. Just keep in mind that not always the availability of free parking means that your car will be on the territory under protection. Most often, free parking in Adler is an opportunity to put a car for free and without violation on public roads. If you need a guarded parking lot, then there are such here: they cost from 100 to 300 rubles per day, depending on the location. Hourly parking in the area of the embankment and Adler market costs 50 rubles / hour.

If you decide to park the car in Adler in the wrong place, you may well get a fine from the photo recording or find it in the parking lot.

To Adler from Sochi

• Trains

  To get to Adler from the center and from other resorts of Sochi, we advise you to use trains whenever possible. They bypass all traffic jams and allow you to get there faster than by taxi or buses, but this is provided that your hotel is located near the Adler railway station or the Izvestia train stop. Trains run according to the schedule, see the schedule above, the cost starts from 40 rubles depending on the distance. A trip from the center of Sochi to Adler station will cost 120 rubles. Just keep in mind that travel on high - speed trains "Lastochka" is twice as expensive, it is better to use simple trains, especially since the time gain is a matter of minutes.

• City buses

  From almost any place in Greater Sochi, you can get to Adler by city buses. They are slow, but cheaper. All buses pass along Lenin Street, deep into the tourist area and closer to the embankment without going deeper. Bus fare is charged by zone, starts from 28 rubles. A trip from the center of Sochi to Adler will cost from 56 rubles, by express bus from 106 rubles. Depending on traffic, the time will take from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Most often, huge traffic jams are formed on weekdays in the morning and evening, as well as during bad weather.
