  • Emerald, blue and crystal lake

    Blue Lake

This group of natural attractions is the most visited tourist destination in the province, and despite the promotion and overcrowding of tourists, it is definitely worth a visit. All these lakes are located on the territory of a small protected forest area Khao Pra Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. In fact, in addition to the mentioned lakes, there is much more to see here, just these three are the most famous. In fact, these are not even lakes, but small natural pools or ponds.

On the territory of the forest you can walk freely along the paved paths and paths, equipped with bridges and gazebos for recreation. During the walk you will see the local exotic flora, beautiful butterflies and other insects, and if you are lucky, small animals. • The Shell Cemetery

    The Shell Cemetery

Shell Fossil Beach Cemetery is a large rock slab off the coast, gradually going under water. This plate is formed from shell rock and formed over many millions of years, its thickness is about 40 cm. Nearby there are mangroves, where paved trails lead, and you can also walk along the beach. There is also a small conditional open-air museum with samples of plates and information.

The road to the Cemetery passes through a green park with gazebos and benches and leads to the ticket office, which almost never has an usher and can be passed for free. Even if there is an usher at the ticket office, you can get to the slabs for free on another path. Of course, the sale of souvenirs from shells is organized here.

In general, visiting this place is a dubious pleasure, also considering that you will have to travel quite a long way to it. And although the cemetery is located between Ao Nang and Krabi Town, you will actually have to make a pretty big detour to get to it. And if you decide to visit the shell cemetery, then be sure to check out the Krabi Aquarium, which is on the way.

    Practical Information

🕐 Working hours: access to the shell cemetery is never closed, but it is better to visit during the daytime.

From Ao Nang, you need to take a shuttle bus along the route "Ao Nang – Shell Fossil Beach" (that's exactly what it says on the bus) daily from 6 am to 5 pm. If you go by your own transport, you need to move towards Ao Nang, and then turn off the road to Ao Nang to the left following the signs for Shell Fossil Beach

  • Krabi Aquarium (Krabi Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Center)

    Krabi Aquarium

You can combine a visit to the Aquarium with a tour of the Shell Cemetery, which is located a little further down the road after the aquarium.

In fact, this is not a tourist attraction specifically for tourists, but a Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Centre, so from the tourist's point of view, everything here looks somewhat neglected. There are several open-air ponds in which fish are bred and studied. You can walk over the reservoirs on bridges. Aquatic inhabitants live in them, but because of the dark water, nothing is visible, only when feeding, the outlines of certain animals appear.

The most interesting is under the roof of the pavilion with small pools and aquariums. And although aquariums look dirty and unkempt (after all, no one cleans them specifically for tourists), you can see a lot of interesting fish, mollusks, reptiles in them. This place will be interesting for both adults and children. Learn more about Krabi Aquarium and photos here...

  • Tiger Temple Wat Tham Suea

    Tiger Temple in Krabi

Tiger Temple Wat Tham Suea (also Tiger Cave, Tiger Cave) is one of the most famous and visited attractions in the province, and definitely the most important temple.

In fact, this is a whole complex, including many traditional temple buildings and statues; a staircase of 1237 steps to the top of the mountain, where there is a large statue of a sitting Buddha; a monastery; the tiger cave monastery itself; a nature trail through the jungle. There are no live tigers in this temple.

The temple was based on a stone niche (cave) at the foot of the mountain, filled with Buddha statues and other Buddhist paraphernalia. One of the most interesting elements in the temple is the staircase to the top of the mountain with a height of 600 meters and 1237 steps. Upstairs you will have a breathtaking view of the province and a huge statue of the golden sitting Buddha.

If you go a little further from the entrance to the territory past all the buildings, you can find the entrance to the Khaokaeo Vipassana Forest Park, along which there are trails for walking, caves and monastic cells. Read more about the Krabi tiger Temple and photos here...

  • Lang Rongrian Cave

    Krabi Cave

This is one of the limestone caves closest to Krabi Town. It is known for the fact that excavations were carried out here, during which many ancient artifacts and human skeletons were found, which allegedly are more than 37 thousand years old. The cave is small but interesting, with bizarre stone formations hanging from above.

Especially in order to visit the cave, it may not be worth going here, but you can stop here on the way to the Huay Toh Waterfall. And yet, it's better to stock up with a mosquito repellent, of which there are simply hordes here.

    Practical Information

🕐 Working hours: around the clock, you should visit during the daytime.

💵Entrance fee / ticket price: free of charge, at the entrance to the cave you will be met by children (schoolchildren from a nearby school) and will offer a mini-tour of the cave for pocket money. You can give them 20-50 baht as a reward

  • Huay To Waterfall

    Waterfall, Krabi

This is a powerful 11-cascade waterfall, one of the most beautiful and perhaps the most famous in the province. Even in the dry season, it is quite full-flowing so that you can admire it and take beautiful photos. There are natural swimming pools at different levels of the waterfall, so don't forget to bring a bathing suit with you. You can climb the path along the waterfall to the very top, which offers a good view and there you can swim in the natural pool, where tourists are usually the least.

Huay To is located on the territory of Khao Phanom Bencha National Park and is its most visited attraction. Khao Phanom Bencha National Park

Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabi is formed on the slopes and around the Phanom Bencha mountain with a height of 1397m. The park is small, with an area of only 50 sq.km.

It is open to tourists, and there is something to see here. Not far from the main entrance to the park is the most beautiful waterfall of Huay To province and several more waterfalls. There are many rivers and streams, beautiful views of the mountains, clean tropical forest. You can even find orchids growing in natural conditions. There are a lot of insects from the animal world here (beware of poisonous spiders), there are snakes (also be careful), there is an endemic and extremely rare species – the Gurney Pitta bird. • Khao Phueng Cave

    Krabi Cave

The Khao Phueng Cave or Tham Khao Pueng Cave Complex is located about a kilometer from the entrance to the Khao Phanom Bencha National Park. The length of the largest cave is more than 500 meters, and it will take about 3 hours to complete its inspection. It is dotted with bizarre stalactites and stalagmites.

The cave is not equipped for visiting by mass tourists, and it is best to take a lantern with you. There are also a huge number of mosquitoes in the cave, it is recommended to use a repellent.

  • Ao Tha Len Bay

    Krabi Kayaking

Ao Tha Len Bay (also Ao Thalane) is an incredibly beautiful place and the best for kayaking in the province of Krabi. Do not immediately be afraid of difficulties: visiting and kayaking in the bay is available to almost every tourist, no special skills are required to control the boat, even children can cope. • Wat Khlong Thom Temple and Museum

    Tiger Temple in Krabi

Wat Khlong Thom would be an unremarkable temple, like thousands of others in Thailand, if not for the museum of the same name located on its territory. The museum shows ancient tools and objects discovered during the excavations of an ancient settlement in the vicinity of the temple, as well as raised from the bottom of the Khlong Thom Canal in a place where it is believed there was an ancient trading port on the route of ships between Asia and the other world. These are bronze tools, beads, Roman coins, ceramic products, stone jewelry and other ancient objects, many of which date back to our era. This is not to say that this museum is definitely worth a visit, except if you drive by. Learn more about Wat Khlong Thom temple and museum with photos here...

  • Nattha Waree Hot Springs

    Natta Vari

These are the most expensive and equipped hot springs in the province. They are located on the territory of the medical complex (Nattha Waree Hot Springs Resort & Spa), which in our opinion can be perceived as a sanatorium. However, not only guests of the sanatorium can take hot baths, but also anyone, of course, for a fee.

There is everything here: a communal pool with hot water, personal baths, a cold pool, a locker room, a storage room, a shower, a fish massage. Slippers, towels, bathrobe, bottle of water are provided. Learn more about the sources here...

    Practical Information

  • Hot springs–Ron Waterfall (Hot Springs Waterfall, Namtok Ron)

    Hot springs - Ron Waterfall

These are the most popular and, perhaps, the most picturesque thermal springs in the province. They are also called Ron Waterfall. Very popular as an excursion destination for group tourists. The beauty of this place is that the pools with hot water are formed naturally. Water from a large stream flows down several small waterfalls into natural reservoirs, where you can swim. The healing properties of these springs are weak, so you can swim in them for a long time. But keep in mind that in the first half of the day, starting at 9 o'clock, many groups of tourists are brought here for excursions, so if you visit the springs yourself, it is better to choose early morning or afternoon. Learn more about the springs and the Ron waterfall here...

    Practical Information

    🕐Working hours: from 8:00 to 17:00.

Entrance fee / ticket price: 90 baht (see currency of Thailand, exchange rate).

🚶 How to get there: The springs are easy to visit with a guided tour, but it's more interesting to visit there yourself by rented transport or taxi. The springs are located 60 kilometers from the city of Krabi, and about an hour away. There is a paid parking (5 baht). Sources on the Krabi map.

  • Salty Hot Springs Salty Hot Springs Khlong Thom and Saline Hot Springs Khlongthom

    Salty hot springs

These are two hot springs at once, which are located next to each other. They are also known as Salty Hot Springs Khlong Thom. They are located farthest from the provincial center of the city of Krabi, and once they were even free. There were almost no tourists here, and they were mainly used by local residents to improve their health, because these are some of the hottest springs in the province. Today this place has become well-maintained, paths and concrete pools have appeared, but it has become paid. Recently, in addition to the pools, the Saline Hot Water Springs Resort opened here. Learn more about the sources here...

    Practical Information

    🕐 Working hours: from 05:00 to 20:00.

Entrance fee / ticket price: entrance to both sources costs 100 baht (3 USD).

🚶 How to get there: located at a distance of about 55 kilometers from Krabi Town, just over an hour on the way. Sources on the Krabi map

  • Krabi Hot Springs

The territory of these springs is moderately equipped and clean, in 2017 a serious renovation of the territory took place here. It's simple: you can take hot baths in several pools with running hot water of different temperatures. There are all amenities, including a locker room, umbrellas, shower. One of the advantages over others is the proximity and not too high price.

    Practical Information

    🕐 Working hours:

    💵Entrance fee / ticket price: 150 baht.

🚶 How to get there: these springs are closest to Krabi Town and other resorts in the province (sources on the map). The distance from Krabi Town is about 30 kilometers, a little less than an hour on the way.
