There's no direct road between them – cars and buses go through Bangkok or on bypass toll roads. Depending on the chosen transport, the trip takes from 3.5 hours by taxi to 10–12 hours by train with a transfer.
You can get from Pattaya to Hua Hin in several ways. The most budget-friendly is the train with a transfer in Bangkok (price – from 75 to 125 baht depending on the route). The most popular and convenient is the direct bus (from 526 baht). For comfort and saving time, choose a taxi or transfer (from 3,000 baht), and for maximum freedom – a car rental. Since late 2026, there's also a flight between U-Tapao and Hua Hin. Below are all the options with prices, schedules, and practical tips.

Direct Bus from Pattaya to Hua Hin

Direct bus service between Pattaya and Hua Hin is a convenient and popular option for independent travelers. The buses are comfortable, with air conditioning, and the trip takes about 5–5.5 hours. There are two carriers:
Roong Reuang Coach – Direct Bus
Roong Reuang Coach (RRC) operates direct flights between Pattaya and Hua Hin. Buses depart from North Pattaya Bus Station. Travel time is about 5 hours 20 minutes. Ticket price is 526 baht (15.7 USD) one way.
In Hua Hin, RRC buses arrive not at the city bus station but at the carrier's station near Hua Hin Airport (Roong Reuang Coach station on the map). From there to the city center and your hotel, you can get there by taxi for 150–200 baht (5.97 USD).
Tickets can be bought at the counters, but it's better to book online in advance, preferably at least a day before the trip. You can do this through trusted aggregators: 12Go or Trip.com (accepts Russian cards).
Flights operate daily, but check the schedule on the websites before your trip:
- Pattaya → Hua Hin: departure at 15:30.
- Hua Hin → Pattaya: departure at 09:00.
Bell Travel Service
Bell Travel Service is another direct service option that many tourists remember from past trips. The company also sent buses from North Pattaya Bus Station. Bell Travel's feature was that on arrival in Hua Hin, passengers could be taken to their hotels by minivan – that was convenient if you don't want to look for a taxi on the spot. Moreover, in Pattaya the company could pick you up right from your hotel for an additional 50 baht.
However, at the moment Bell Travel flights between Pattaya and Hua Hin are suspended. There's no information on a resumption date, and the current price is unknown. Before planning your trip, be sure to check the current status on the official website: ticket.belltravelservice.com.
Taxi and Transfer from Pattaya to Hua Hin

If you value comfort and time and don't want to adjust to bus schedules, a taxi or private transfer is the optimal choice. The drive takes about 3.5–4 hours by car (in the absence of traffic jams), the distance is about 320 km.
How much does a taxi from Pattaya to Hua Hin cost? Prices vary greatly depending on how you order:
- On the street / at a travel agency / at the taxi stand. You can negotiate with the driver on the spot. The approximate cost is from 3,000 baht (89.54 USD) per car. Haggling is possible here, and the final price depends on your negotiating skills and demand. When haggling, be sure to check whether the toll road cost is included in the price. Usually they're paid separately on top (about 300 baht). We recommend taking the toll roads – that way you'll save at least a couple of hours, if not three.
- Online services and apps. Ordering through apps (Grab, Bolt, etc.) or specialized transfer sites usually costs more but gives a fixed price and a guaranteed car.

Plane from Pattaya to Hua Hin
- 💵 Cost: from 2,900 baht (from 86.55 USD) + transfers
- ⏲ Time needed: about 3–4 hours including transfers (flight – 40 minutes)
Since October 23, 2026, EZY Airlines has launched regular flights between U-Tapao Airport (UTP), which serves Pattaya, and Hua Hin Airport (HHQ). The flight lasts just about 40 minutes. Flights operate four times a week – on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays – on a Cessna Grand Caravan. Ticket prices start from 2,900 baht (86.55 USD) one way.
This option makes sense if you're traveling light and value time. However, keep in mind that U-Tapao Airport is about 30–40 km from central Pattaya, and you still need to get there. Hua Hin Airport is also located 10 km from the city center. As a result, the total travel time including transfers will be about 3–4 hours, and the cost will be higher than by bus.

Car Rental for a Trip to Hua Hin

Car rental gives you maximum freedom on the trip. You can not only get from Pattaya to Hua Hin at a convenient time but also stop at interesting places along the way, and move freely along the coast at the resort itself.
The drive from Pattaya to Hua Hin takes about 3.5–4 hours if you go without stops on the toll roads. The cost of toll segments will be about 300 baht (8.95 USD) depending on the route. This will not only save you 2–3 hours of travel but also be safer, especially if you have no experience driving on local roads. Car rental prices in Pattaya start from about 600–850 baht (17.91 – 25.37 USD) per day, and in low season you can find options even from 500 baht. It's best to book a car online in advance, especially in high season.
Train from Pattaya to Hua Hin with a Transfer

- ⏲ Time needed: about 8–10 hours
The train is the most budget-friendly but also the longest option. There's no direct rail service between Pattaya and Hua Hin. You'll first need to get from Pattaya to Bangkok (e.g., by bus or train to Hua Lamphong station), and then transfer to a train to Hua Hin from the Krung Thep Aphiwat central station.
You'll spend at least 8–10 hours on the road including the transfer. Ticket prices: from 31 baht for the train to Bangkok and from 94 baht for the train to Hua Hin. With a Transfer via Bangkok by Bus

You can get to Bangkok by bus and transfer there to a departure to Hua Hin. This option will take 8-12 hours but can cost a little less than the direct bus and can be more flexible in terms of schedule.
From Pattaya, buses and minivans arrive at different places in Bangkok; buses to Hua Hin depart from three main stations, and those are the ones you need to get to:
- Ekkamai Bus Terminal (Eastern Bus Terminal). Buses from North Pattaya Bus Station arrive here, and there are also direct flights to Hua Hin from here.
- Mor Chit (Northern Bus Terminal). Also connected by direct service to Pattaya. From here you can leave for Hua Hin.
- Sai Tai Mai (Southern Bus Terminal). This is the main terminal for buses to Hua Hin, but there are no direct flights here from Pattaya – you'll have to get there with a transfer or by taxi across Bangkok.
In principle, you can choose any of these three bus stations for the transfer; buses to Hua Hin run frequently from them. But our choice is Mo Chit or Ekkamai, since they're easier to reach both from North Pattaya Bus Station and from the T-Tour station in the center near Bali Hai Pier.
