Hua Hin hotels where to stay
Accommodation in Hua Hin is mainly represented by hotels, there are not very many guest houses here. Moreover, it is believed that the prices here are slightly higher than at other beach resorts in Thailand with the same quality. This may be true, but the difference in prices is almost not noticeable. If desired, it is quite easy to find a room with air conditioning from 500 baht (15.32 USD, see Thailand currency and exchange rate), or a bed in a hostel from 200 baht (6.13 USD). The price for five-star accommodation starts from 2500 baht (76.59 USD) for a room for two.
Most of the inexpensive hostels and hostels are concentrated in the tourist area near the main city temple Wat Ampharam along the streets of Soi Selakam, Nares Damri and others in the area (tourist area on the map of Hua Hin). This area is just packed with bars and nightclubs, cheap gests and entertainment for adults. If you are looking for a party and cheap accommodation, then go straight here. However, at night the street is sometimes so noisy that it is unlikely to get enough sleep here. But if you move just a hundred meters away, it becomes quiet.
The bulk of beach holiday hotels are located along the coastline. Hotels do not have their own beaches, but they go directly to the sea. There are also a number of hotels located at a respectful distance from the water, on the other side of the main road. If you come to Hua Hin for a beach holiday, it is better not to settle on the other side of the road, it will already be too far away. On the other hand, it is only necessary to move away from the beach by 200-300 meters, as accommodation prices drop sharply.
Well, it is worth mentioning separately about renting housing in Hua Hin, since this place is quite popular for wintering. Renting a house in Hua Hin will not be a problem. You can do this either via the Internet while still at home (there are, among other things, Russian-language websites of real estate agencies in Hua Hin) or by arriving in Hua Hin and staying at a hotel to begin with. The second option, of course, will be cheaper and housing can be picked up by seeing it with your own eyes, the first is more convenient. You can rent a room, an apartment or a house (villa) for a long time. Apartments or rooms can be searched in the same areas where hotels are located. But with houses everything is a little more complicated: in Hua Hin itself there are practically no houses for rent near the beach. They are either far from the beach or on the coast far from the city.
You can find and book accommodation in Hua Hin on these sites or through the search form. All sites have a Russian interface and Russian-language customer support, a lot of reviews from real guests.

Hua Hin hotels and beaches on the map
Hua Hin beaches, districts
The beaches in Hua Hin are great. Objectively, they are certainly not as good as in the southern islands, but definitely cleaner than in Pattaya. This, by the way, is one of the main reasons why Hua Hin is increasingly becoming an alternative to Pattaya for Russian tourists. And yet, the water here is just incredibly warm. At the height of the hot season (April-May) it warms up so much that it becomes warmer than the surrounding air.
Not all the beaches of Hua Hin are developed and equipped, which is even good. The most equipped and crowded beach is the central city beach. The further away from it, the fewer people and cleaner. There are also several areas quite outside the city, where the hotels themselves equip and take care of the beach.
Unfortunately, the influence of tides is very strong in Hua Hin: fluctuations between high and low levels can reach almost 2 meters. And this means that at high tide the sea moves away from the coast, rocks are exposed, sea mud from algae and human waste opens. In order not to spoil your rest with such an unpleasant surprise, it is best to follow the forecasts of the tides so that the tides come in the morning or lunch, and the tides at night.
On some sites you can find an erroneous statement that the ebb and flow in Hua Hin depends on the time of year and time of day. But this is completely wrong, everything is much more complicated, and it cannot be said, for example, that low tide always happens here only in the morning. In order not to make a mistake, see our forecast for six months ahead, which is calculated using a special AVISO+ algorithm based on statistical data collected over 20 years.
Here is a list of Hua Hin areas and beaches where you can choose accommodation to your liking:
-
Center, tourist area
This is the most popular and developed place. If you want not only to lie on the beach, but also to have a little fun, we advise you to settle here (Hua Hin city center on the map).
In the very center, you can also conditionally select a tourist area, where bars and nightclubs are concentrated, girls and boys for sale. This place is, of course, much more modest in terms of entertainment Walking Street in Pattaya or Bangla Road in Phuket, but everything you need for a night out is here. The most cheerful streets are Selakam Soi, Bintabaht, Poon Suk. The amazing thing is that this dissolute area is practically adjacent to the main city temple.
But not only fans of "hanging out" all night are interested in the center. If you walk along Nares Damri Alley to the marina, you can find excellent restaurants there overlooking the bay. And if you cross the Thanon Phetkasem road (the main road through the city), you can get to the night market. The area is also advantageous because transport is concentrated here: nearby is the railway station, the Lompraya catamaran office (to get to the islands Tao, Phangan or Koh Samui), and from the clock tower depart minivans to Bangkok.
As for the quality of the beaches, here it is the worst throughout the city beach. But what can you do, because this is the center and the most crowded place in the city.
Bars in the tourist area of Hua Hin -
Hua Hin City Beach
Hua Hin City Beach stretches along the entire city coast of Hua Hin (Hua Hin city beach on the map). This is a huge area (the beach is almost 6 kilometers long), where there are always many tourists, especially closer to the center. The main entrance to the beach is considered to be the alley 61 soi. This is the most developed and tourist-rich part. In this place, on the way to the beach, there is a whole open market, which has everything to relax on the beach, starting with swimsuits of different sizes, ending with inflatable circles. There is also a tourist police office here.
Since this beach is central, there are a huge number of people here, so Russian tourists can easily find compatriots. There is a lot of entertainment here, such as banana riding (cost 150 baht) on a jet ski, or parachute flying. There is horseback riding. In general, you will not be bored there. As soon as you get here, you will immediately be offered to rent sunbeds, umbrellas and chairs. There is a cafe, makashnitsy walk along the beach with food, massage is offered.
As for the hotels in this area, there are a huge number of them here. If you do not have special preferences for a secluded holiday, then staying at a hotel in the Hua Hin urban area is the best option. Moreover, the closer to the center and tourist areas you will be, the more fun it will be. As you move away from the center to the south (towards Khao Takiab Mountains), it becomes more deserted and calmer.
If you move further north from the center towards Cha-am and Bangkok, then the chain of hotels along the beach is not interrupted all the way to Cha-am. Hotels here are more comfortable and expensive, with their own territory and beaches. But with the distance from the center, both the infrastructure and the amount of entertainment outside the hotels decrease.
Hua Hin City Beach -
Khao Takiab Beach
Khao Takiab Beach is located south of Takiab Mountain (also called "Monkey Mountain", Khao Takiab) (Khao Takiab beach on the map). The beach is not too big in size, about 2 kilometers. But after two kilometers it does not end, but goes to the military beach of Suan Son, which is also open to the public. The situation here is much calmer and more secluded than on the city beach.
Walking along the beach in the evening, small crabs can be found in the sands. There are a lot of shells on the beach, a paradise for small children. The sand feels creaky, it turns white in the sun. There are two restaurants and a cafe directly on the beach. Sometimes a small boat sails up to the shore and unloads the newly caught fish to the shore, you can buy fish right on the spot. There is a possibility of horseback riding. Attractions include a 19-meter golden Buddha statue. This is a very beautiful building. You can get to the beach by minibus, of which there are a lot near the beach. The price of one trip is 20 baht (0.61 USD). On the beach you will be offered to buy sun beds, umbrellas, tables, in general, any whim for your money.
Along the coastline, not far from the mountain, there are several beautiful hotels. If you stay here, you will be at the same time not too far from the city (you can get to the city center from here by minibus for 20 baht), and in a rather secluded and quiet place. In the evenings, there is nothing to do outside the hotels in this place. And during the day, except for a beach holiday, you will not find anything here.
Mountain view of Khao Takiab -
Cha-am (Cha-am)
26 kilometers north of Hua Hin is the small town of Cha-Am (Cha-Am beach on the map). Although Cha-Am is an independent resort, it is often considered part of Hua Hin. It also has its own beach, and a very good and long one.
This is a great place for a beach holiday in a fairly quiet and peaceful environment. There is a lot of jungle around, beautiful sand. This beach is especially popular with Thai youth. Foreign tourists are a rarity here. At the same time, Cha-Am beach, in comparison with Hua Hin, offers somewhat more budget accommodation, so this place is popular with foreign backpackers who prefer a purely beach holiday. There is not much to count on for entertainment, fun and shopping here: in the evening there is nothing to do except go to cafes or restaurants.
The attraction of the beach is large 35-meter trees called Casuarinas (conifers). The sea is very shallow, just right for small children. There are traditional beach activities, so you won't be particularly bored there. There is very good and inexpensive food here. Basically, this is a purely Thai beach, and from the outside it may seem a little boring, but having been there, you will realize that this is far from the case.
Cha-ama Beach -
Khao Tao Beach
Khao Tao is a small village south of Hua Hin with beautiful sights that are not only interesting to foreign tourists, but also revered by locals. Of course, there is a beach here. Khao Tao beach on the map.
There are two beaches in the village at once Haad Sai Noi and Haad Sai Yai. These beaches are very small, calm and well suited for those who appreciate silence. There are many fish restaurants here, and they exhaust all the entertainment of this place. The main attraction is the Wat Khao Tao temple complex.
There are several excellent hotels in the Khao Tao area at reasonable prices. This place is suitable for a quiet family holiday, and it is not worth recommending it to active tourists who want to be closer to the thick of events.
-
Suan Son beach
This beach is also known as a military beach, because it is located on the territory of a military unit, or rather, on the territory of a military sports complex Khao Tao beach on the map. However, anyone can visit it.
There is very light, almost white fine sand, a natural shade from casuarina trees, a very gentle entrance to the water, a small number of tourists, and a complete lack of infrastructure. In addition, you can only get here by taxi or your own transport. If you arrive by your own (rented) transport, you can leave it at the free parking lot next to the army complex.
-
Pranburi (Pran Buri)
Pranburi is another very peaceful area, which is located thirty kilometers south of Hua Hin (Pranburi on the map). The beach in this area is perfect for those who like to have a good rest and relax on the beach. Beautiful smooth sand, bright sun, green forests, always clean sea. If you get bored, you can do sports on the beach, such as canoeing or snorkeling. You can play football or volleyball, take a boat ride. But there are very few foreign tourists here. Most of all this place is popular with locals.
In general, this is a quiet, peaceful place that is perfect for a relaxing holiday. There are plenty of hotels in Pranburi, and almost all of them are located on the very shore a few steps from the water. There is nothing to do here except beach holidays.
