Since 2025, things have changed: Transport Co (999) has launched a direct bus between the airport and Hua Hin. Now you can get to the resort without transfers, which is especially convenient if you're arriving with large luggage or don't want to deal with Bangkok's city transport. The direct bus is the simplest and most predictable option, but if it doesn't fit your schedule, there are always taxis, transfers, trains, or buses with a transfer. Let's look at each method in detail below.

By Taxi or Transfer

The cheapest way is to order a car through the Grab, Maxim, or InDrive apps (an Uber analog, which doesn't work in Thailand), as well as at the official taxi counter. By Bus

Direct Transport Co (999) Bus from Don Mueang Airport

Since 2025, Transport Co (999) has been operating direct flights between Don Mueang Airport and Hua Hin. This is the most convenient budget option: you don't need to go anywhere within Bangkok, the bus departs directly from the terminal. A ticket costs 205 baht (6.12 USD), travel time is about 4 hours. The buses are comfortable, with air conditioning and a large luggage compartment.

The stop is near Terminal 1, next to Exit No. 2 (Exit 2). Follow the "Public Transport" or "Bus" signs. The schedule may change, but as of 2026, buses from the airport depart twice a day – approximately at 08:00 and 15:00. Back from Hua Hin – around 09:00 and 15:30. Before your trip, be sure to check the current schedule on the carrier's website or in the E-Ticket app, as departure times may be adjusted.

The bus makes stops in Cha-Am and Phetchaburi, and in Hua Hin it arrives at the new bus station (Hua Hin New Bus Station). From there, you can get to the city center by tuk-tuk or taxi for 100–150 baht. With a Transfer in Bangkok (Bus + Bus)

If the direct bus doesn't fit your schedule, you can get there with a transfer in Bangkok. This option is cheaper but takes more time – from 5 to 6 hours. First you need to get to the northern Mo Chit (Chatuchak) bus station. The easiest way to do this is on the A1 airport express bus, which stops on the first floor of Terminal 1, right at Exit No. 6 (Gate 6). It's very easy to find, there are signs everywhere. Buses depart from 05:45 a.m. to midnight every 15–20 minutes. The ticket costs 30 baht (0.9 USD), payable in cash or by card right at the entrance. You need to go to the final stop – Mo Chit 2 bus station (Chatuchak), from where it's easy to transfer to the BTS or MRT metro, as well as to intercity buses to Hua Hin.

From Mo Chit to Hua Hin, large buses and minivans depart. A ticket costs from 180 baht (5.37 USD), travel time is about 3–3.5 hours. There are departures several times a day, but it's best to check the schedule on the spot. You can also get to the southern Sai Tai Mai bus terminal, from where buses leave more often, but it's harder to get there from the airport – you'll have to travel across the whole city with transfers or by taxi.

By Train

The train is the most budget-friendly and colorful way to get to Hua Hin, but also the longest. The route involves two transfers: first a commuter train from the airport to a railway station in Bangkok, then a train to Hua Hin. But such a trip will cost very little, and the views from the window will brighten the journey.

From Don Mueang Airport, you need to cross the road via a covered pedestrian bridge to Don Mueang Railway Station. More than 30 commuter trains a day depart from it, including night trains. Travel time to Krung Thep Aphiwat station (Bang Sue) is about 30–40 minutes, ticket price from 5 baht (0.15 USD). Tickets are bought at the ticket office, no advance booking needed.

At Krung Thep Aphiwat station, you need to transfer to a train to Hua Hin. Trains depart at least 13 times a day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. A third-class ticket costs from 44 baht (1.31 USD), travel time is 3–4 hours.
