Description and is it worth a visit
Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabiis formed on the slopes and around the Phanom Bencha mountain with a height of 1397m. The park is small, with an area of only 50 sq.km.
It is open to tourists, and there is something to see here. Not far from the main entrance to the park is the most beautiful waterfall of Huay To province and several more waterfalls. There are many rivers and streams, beautiful views of the mountains, a clean tropical forest. You can even find orchids growing in natural conditions. There are a lot of insects from the animal world here (beware of poisonous spiders), there are snakes (also be careful), there is an endemic and extremely rare species – the Gurney Pitta bird.
You can visit the park in the form of a short walk, during which you usually inspect Huay To and Huay Sa Khe waterfalls, stroll along the adjacent routes, relax in gazebos or have a picnic, ride elephants (800 baht/hour). A longer visit may include difficult routes up to the summit. Despite the low altitude (1397 meters), the route up and down is quite laborious and takes 1-3 days depending on your preparedness. For these purposes, camping sites are equipped on the territory of the park, but you will have to carry your own tent. Climbing to the top is possible only in the dry season and only accompanied by a local guide, who can be obtained at the park headquarters at the entrance. Also, a map of the park with routes is given at the entrance.
Do not forget that when visiting National Parks in Thailand, you should follow the established rules (do not litter, do not kill animals, do not destroy plants, etc.), otherwise you will be punished with a fine.
Not far from the entrance to the park and the headquarters outside the park, there are two more interesting places that are often visited: the Tham Khao Phueng Cave and the Huay Tho Water Fall Safari elephant camp.
