How to get to Phi Phi from Bangkok

There are almost 900 kilometers from Bangkok to Phi Phi Don Island, and to overcome this path, you should lay at least half a day when flying by plane, and up to a day if you travel by train or bus.

The most convenient option is to buy a ready-made package ticket from Bangkok immediately to Phi Phi. It includes a plane, bus or train, if necessary, transfer to a minivan, and delivery by ferry. All transport is selected with minimal transfers, and the cost will be the same as if you purchase tickets separately, and sometimes even cheaper, since you do not have to use a taxi. If you are going to get there yourself, you can do it through Krabi Town or Phuket. The last part of the journey will take place by ferry. Here is the ferry schedule to Phi Phi Island:

There is no airport on Pi-Pi Don Island. You will have to get from Bangkok via the nearest Krabi airports or Phuket. Both of them are about the same distance away, and by and large it doesn't matter which one you choose, as long as the flights are cheaper. Both regular flights from Suvarnabhumi Airport and budget flights from Don Mueang Airport. You can check prices and book tickets using the search form:

• Via Krabi Airport

  Krabi Airport is located on the mainland in the province of Krabi (on the map). From there, you can get to the island by buying a ready-made bus ticket + ferry to Pi Pi right at the airport, or by booking in advance via the Internet Here. You can also take a minibus from the airport to the marina Klong Jilad in Krabi Town, where you can already take the ferry. But it doesn't make much sense, because a ready-made ticket costs the same as if you buy everything separately.

  The only thing to consider is that the last ferry to Phi Phi departs at 15:00, so if you arrive after noon, you probably won't have time, and you should plan an overnight stay in Krabi–tain or Ao Nang.

• Via Phuket Airport

  Phuket Airport is located in the north of the island, and upon arrival you need to get to Rassada Marina (Rassada port, Rassada Pier on the map), or Nam Chai Pier on the eastern shore of the island. It is easier to do this by buying a single ticket immediately to Phi Phi. If it doesn't work out, then you can get from the airport to the pier:

  • By local bus to Phuket Town, and from there by taxi or tuk-tuk to the pier.
  • By taxi from 600 baht
  • Book in advance a transfer from the airport to the pier by taxi here - kiwitaxi.ru. A driver with a sign will meet you at the airport.

  But keep in mind that if you arrive after lunch, you will not have time to get on the ferry to Phi Phi on the same day, the last one departs at 15:30. We'll have to spend the night in Phuket. The easiest and most inexpensive option in this case is to go to Pukhket-town and check into a hotel there (see hotels in Phuket where it is better to stop). You can also stay in a hotel near the airport on Nai-yang Beach.
