Paphos is considered the center of attractions in Cyprus, and it is here that you are advised to go if you prefer to get acquainted with history and culture, walk in archaeological parks and visit museums. This is true, but you need to understand that objectively there are not so many attractions within the Paphos itself, and even to look at everything very carefully and slowly, it will take no more than two days. So, for example, in one day you can visit the Archaeological Park and the archaeological or ethnographic museum (the Archaeological Museum is under renovation in 2020). On the second day you can walk around the free attractions in the tourist area of Kata Paphos (catacombs of St. Solomonia, Paphos Castle, Mount Factory, etc., see the full list below), as well as go to the Royal Tombs. If desired, all this can be viewed even in one day, however, almost on the run.
But many more interesting places are located in the vicinity of Paphos. These are colorful traditional villages and ancient Temples, archaeological parks and ruins, natural attractions and beaches. From here it is also convenient to go with a tour or by rented car to the mountainous region of Trodos. But to get acquainted with the sights in the vicinity, you will either have to rent a car (see all about renting transport in Cyprus), or Master expensive and not very convenient public transport, or buy excursions. Buying excursions on the spot is not difficult, they are offered in Paphos everywhere in travel agencies on the street. But today it is more convenient to search and book them via the Internet, which can be done on these proven excursion search sites with reviews:
Below is a list of interesting places in Paphos and the surrounding area, broken down into groups, as well as entertainment in Paphos that is worth visiting, indicating opening hours, cost:

Paphos Promenade (Walking Coastal Path)
Paphos Promenade The promenade in Paphos can not be called one of the most beautiful in Cyprus, but in the absence of another, this is a pretty good option for evening walks or morning runs. Conditionally, it can be divided into several sections, but if you take it in general, then it almost continuously stretches for several kilometers from Lighthouse Beach almost to the airport itself. Especially interesting, in our opinion, is a site in the Kata Paphos area behind the Paphos archaeological park, called Coastal Broadwalk. Visiting the gorge involves a walk along its bottom for several hours. Adonis baths and waterfall (Adonis Baths Waterfalls)
Baths of Adonis and waterfall This place is also called "Adonis Falls" and has a museum, waterfall and swimming pool in one place. The passage to the waterfall leads through a small private house-museum, which houses a simple exposition about the life of a traditional Cypriot family of the past and the century before last.
After visiting the museum, you will get to the pool itself, which is filled with mountain water from the waterfall. The waterfall is small, at most 3 meters, so you will not get much impressions from the view of it. But swimming in the pool definitely will not forget, if, Of course, you decide to plunge: the water in it is icy, especially in winter and spring. On the "shore" there are sun loungers and gazebos where you can have a picnic. Above the water there is a bungee jump, you can climb the surrounding rocks.
In general, if you do not plan to swim and relax near the pool, the visit will take no more than 10 minutes, spend much more on the road, which, by the way, is quite bad. Therefore, to go here simply as a tourist attraction for photographing and a view of the waterfall is not worth it, but only as a place of rest for a few hours.

Pegeia archaeological site and Agios Georgios Chapel
Agios Georgios Chapel It is a relatively small open-air Archaeological Museum. At least, much smaller than the Archaeological Park in Paphos or in Kouklia, for example. Burial sites are cut in the rock, and are made in the form of several levels (floors). Sea caves and rocks in Peyia (Peyia Sea Caves)
Sea caves and rocks in Peyia (Peyia Sea Caves) Also this place is known as Aiva Arches or Peyia marine reserve. This is a protected natural landmark, representing unusual rock formations on the shore. But, of course, it is not stones that are protected here, but Seals, which for some reason choose this place to rest during migration. The chances of seeing animals are minimal, and there are unusual rocks, stone arches, and the caves themselves are always in place. Steni village and Museum of village life (Steni Village and Museum)
Steni village and Museum of village life (Steni Village) Steni is a traditional quiet village in the foothills of Troodos. It cannot be definitely attributed to a mountain village, however, it is surrounded by picturesque hills and mountains, and is an excellent example of a traditional Cypriot village that will be interesting for tourists to visit. In the village there is a local history museum or the Museum of village life (the Steni Museum of Village Life), telling about life, and a little about the history of the village. It is not very large, consists of one room, but literally "stuffed" with exhibits. If you carefully study the purpose of each of them, an hour or more will easily fly by. Fiti Village and weaving Museum (Fiti Village and Weaving Museum)
Museum of weaving in Fiti The village of Fiti has long been known for its masters of weaving, in the past, most of the inhabitants of the village were engaged in this craft. Kouklia Village and sanctuary of Afrodite Archaeological Park
Kuklia village and Sanctuary of Aphrodite Archaeological Park (Steni Village) This is another traditional village with beautiful narrow streets and houses made of white and beige limestone, but among the others it stands out because it houses the Archaeological Park Sanctuary of Aphrodite or Sanctuary of Aphrodite of Palaepafos, also called Simply The Archaeological Park Kouklia. This is one of the largest and most interesting archaeological parks in the country, and in our opinion (the authors of the site) is second only to the archaeological parks in Paphos and Kourion in Limassol. However, I would like to note that without a walk through the village and seeing the rest of the free attractions in it, The Sanctuary itself may seem too boring for such a long trip from Paphos. In addition to the Archaeological Park in the village of Kbesplatno, you can see the ancient Catholic Church Panagia Odigitria of the XII century, the Orthodox Church St. Luke's Church with a bell tower, and on Apostolou Louca Avenue you can find a private snake nursery on the signs.
