Pissouri (Pissouri, also Pissouri) - a small town and beach resort on the southwestern coast of the island of Cyprus, 35 kilometers from Limassol, and 40 kilometers from Paphos (Pissouri on the map. Administratively, it belongs to Limassol, and one often hears the opinion that it is just a remote beach of Limassol. However, in fact, this is a full-fledged and independent resort for a relaxing beach holiday.
The town, rather even a village, is quite small, a little more than 1000 permanent residents live here, but during the high tourist season its population grows several times due to vacationers, many of whom traditionally come from Russia and other countries of the former USSR. Please note that the center of the village is 5 kilometers from the beach and the tourist area with hotels and tourist infrastructure. The center is unremarkable for tourists except for a few churches and taverns.

Holidays in Pissouri and resort infrastructure
Pissouri is a beach resort, and its main "feature" is that it is an exceptionally cozy place. It is small, everyone knows each other, and you, too, after a few days of rest here will feel like your own. At the same time, despite the calm village atmosphere, this is a very clean and tourist-developed place. There is a travel agency and a diving center, small shops with food and basic necessities (there are no large supermarkets and shopping centers), boutiques with tourist goods and souvenirs. You can eat in one of about a dozen taverns, there is even a restaurant of exotic Indian cuisine.
But objectively it is worth saying that the prices here are high, the rest is not from the budget. For this reason, many tourists stay in more budget places in the center of Limassol or Paphos, and come here to rest during the day on rented transport or buses. There are enough places in the village where you can park your car for free even near the beach, but during the high tourist season in the middle of summer you need to come early, otherwise everything will be busy.
The beach of Pissouri and the resort area is located in the same cozy as the town itself, the Bay of Pissouri Bay (Pissouri Bay) in the form of a crescent, and continuously stretches for more than a kilometer. Because of the purity of the water, it has been a proud owner of the blue flag of cleanliness and environmental friendliness for many years. On the shore there is a small and smooth pebble, sometimes sand comes under it, but this is rather an exception. In the Bay there are rarely strong waves, the entrance to the water is quite steep, the bottom is clean, there are no large stones. This makes Pissouri Beach one of the best places for swimming in the two major areas of Limassol and Paphos. Therefore, at the height of the Suad season, tourists from both cities come for a day to relax, and on weekends local families with children are also added. But, despite this, it is not crowded, there is enough space for everyone. There are free showers and changing rooms. Rental of sun loungers and umbrellas is paid, as elsewhere in Cyprus at a standard price of 2.5 euros for the whole day (2.91 USD, see currency of Cyprus and exchange rate).
Another reason that makes vacationers come here is water Entertainment. Here you can go windsurfing, kayaking, ride a banana, master the sapboard (paddle board), rent a jet ski, catamaran, kayak with a transparent bottom to observe underwater life. At the eastern shore near the black stones (Black Rock) You can swim with a mask and tube. We (the authors of the site) did not meet other beaches at once with all similar entertainment in Paphos and Limassol.
There are no attractions in Pissouri. In the center of the village you can see the Church of the Apostle Andrew of the late 19th century (Apostolos Andreas Church) and the chapel of St. George (Saint George), on the outskirts of the village on a hill the Church of Agios Mauritius (Agios Maurikius), and the miniature church of All Saints on the territory of the Columbia Beach Resort on the beach. It's a stretch to call the center of the village itself a landmark due to traditional architecture and a quiet way of life, and that's all. Hotels in Pissouri and where to stay
As we mentioned, Pissouri is not a budget resort at all. The minimum price for a room for two with basic amenities and services in the center of the village five kilometers from the beach will be from 50 euros (58.16 USD).
To settle in the resort area near the beach, you will have to pay from 70 euros per room. You can find it cheaper if you use the search for housing and book in advance a few months before the start of the season. Well, as an option, you can stay in the center of Limassol or Paphos, and come here by rented car.

Pissouri weather and tourist seasons
Pissouri is an exclusively beach resort, so you should come here at the height of the beach season, which lasts from the end of May to October. If you really want, you can come in April or November, but at this time you can not swim comfortably, you can only sunbathe. And yet, outside the high season, the resort dies: shops and cafes near the beach do not work.

How to get to Pissouri
Before we start talking about how to get to Pissouri, we once again recall that Pissouri is a village whose center is 5 kilometers from the beach, and the resort area with hotels and tourist infrastructure is located separately on the beach in Pissouri Bay (Pissuri on the map). The resort area and the center of the village are connected by a single regular bus number 630, which runs only three times a day on a very inconvenient schedule for tourists, so ideally you should get a rented transport here.

So, the village and beach of Pissouri are located in the south-west of the island, 35 kilometers from Limassol and 40 from Paphos. The nearest airport-Paphos airport, is only 27 kilometers away, and it seems that the easiest way to get through it. But the problem is that there are few direct flights from Russia to this airport, and they are more expensive than to the main airport of Larnaca. Sometimes there are inexpensive flights with transfers in European cities, but in most cases they will not work, since the Free Online pro-visa is valid only for direct flights from Russia. Therefore, it is much easier and cheaper to fly here through Larnaca airport.

To Pissouri via Paphos airport
From Paphos airport it is most convenient to get by rented car, besides you will need a car during your vacation. Renting at the airport will cost more than twice as much as already on site at the resort.
It is also possible to get there by taxi for about 30 euros in the afternoon (34.89 USD), and about 35 at night. You can also book a tourist transfer in advance, and then the driver will meet you at the airport with a sign, and take you to the desired hotel. Transfers can be picked up and paid for online on sites with Russian support kiwitaxi.com or intui.travel/.
In theory, you can get there by bus, but this is an extremely inconvenient way, you will have to make transfers. In addition, you will have to dock transfers on buses, so as not to wait too long. Here is the instruction:
From Paphos airport you need to take one of the buses: #612, #613, #649. These buses need to travel to one of the bus stops on the main highway to change to another bus directly to Pissouri. The closest stop is Archiepiskopou Makariou (Timi)2/Archiepiskopou Makariou(Timi)2. From there, transfer to bus number 630 directly to the center of Pissouri and to the resort area (see schedule #630 and route on map). Bus number 630 goes only 3 times a day, so you need to pick up the crossings carefully, otherwise you will still have to catch a taxi from the highway. The fare in each of the buses costs 1.5 euros (1.74 USD).

To Pissouri via Larnaca airport
From Larnaca airport it is more difficult to get there, you will have to overcome 100 kilometers, but as we mentioned, taking into account the cost of tickets and the Schedule of flights from the Russian Federation, this option is more preferable.
From Larnaca airport to Pissouri is best reached by rented car. In general, Larnaca airport has the cheapest prices for booking cars in all of Cyprus, renting at resorts will cost you many times more. In our experience, we (the authors of the site) in the spring of 2020 booked a car for only 30 euros for 7 days!!!, which is even much cheaper than just taking a taxi in one direction. Of course, in high season, rental prices are higher, but it will still be the most profitable way to get and move around Cyprus as a whole. If you do not drive a car or do not want to get involved with renting, you can take a taxi, which will cost from 60 euros in the afternoon (69.79 USD), and about 70 at night. You can also book an online tourist transfer from Larnaca airport to Pissouri by car or minivan at kiwitaxi.com or intui.travel. In this case, the driver will meet you with a sign on arrival of the flight, and will take you to the hotel.
If a taxi is expensive, then there is one more option-to go with transfers on buses:
- From the airport, take the bus to Limassol Limassol Airport Express. Walks 16 times a day, see the schedule here or on the carrier's website - enlimassolairportexpress.eu/. The fare is 9 euros, and 4 euros for children 3-12 years old. The journey takes 60 Minutes.
- From the same stop, where you will arrive in Limassol, take the city bus number 70 for 1.5 euros (it goes very rarely, see schedule and Route # 70 here).
- Bus number 70 goes only to the center of the village, and if you need to get to the resort area, you need to drive 5 kilometers by taxi (about 10 euros), or walk 10 minutes to another stop, where you take bus number 630 (see schedule #630 and route on the map).

To Pissouri from other cities in Cyprus
