Paphos (Paphos, also Pafos) - a city in Cyprus in the western part of the island (Paphos on the map. It is the most peaceful resort city of the four largest resorts in Cyprus (Limassol, Larnaca, Ayia Napa and Paphos). This is one of those places where you should go first of all in order to get acquainted with the sights and history of the island, or just have a quiet time. There are several important archaeological parks and museums, historical ruins and ancient temples, colorful traditional villages and natural attractions. The historic district of the city with all its monuments is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

But this does not mean that in Paphos there is no beach holiday at all, it's just that it is much less developed here, and there are few good beaches. The beaches here, unfortunately, are mostly Pebble-Sandy, you can even say Stone-Sandy. The entrance to the water is inconvenient, even on clean sandy beaches, many stones are hidden under the water.

Polis (Polis Chrysochous, Polis-Chrysochus) - a small town in the north-west of the island of Cyprus, 35 kilometers from Paphos (Polis town on the map. Sometimes Polis is considered part of Paphos, since it is part of the region of the same name, but in fact it is a completely independent town and resort, connected with Paphos only administratively. There is a large fishing port Latchi (Latchi), and very close to the peninsula and the Akamas Reserve.

This is one of the most peaceful and quiet resorts in Cyprus, suitable exclusively for beach holidays. There are no attractions, a minimum of entertainment, but the beaches are the best in the entire area of Paphos. They are long, sandy mixed with pebbles, wide, and very sparsely populated even at the height of the season in the summer months. True, it's the same as everywhere else, just at the water's edge and under water pebbles, but here it is, at least, small and smooth. There are pure pebble beaches in the Polis area, so there will be plenty to choose from. The infrastructure in Polis is quite developed, but not as well as in Paphos.

Located 15 kilometers from the center of Paphos (Peyia on the map), and is often considered as its remote area and beach, although in fact it is already an independent full-fledged beach resort for recreation. Here are two the best beaches of all Paphos: Coral Bay Beach and Laourou Beach. The village is quite large in size, stretches along the coast for almost 15 kilometers, but all the tourist life of this resort is concentrated in the area of Coral Bay Beach.

To go on vacation in Peyia is only for the sake of a beach holiday. There are no attractions, tourist attractions and parties here. But, nevertheless, at least some tourist life is present here: there are travel agencies, car rental, shops with goods for tourists, cafes and restaurants, and even supermarkets. Almost all of this is concentrated in the Coral Bay Beach area, and outside it is an ordinary village with a quiet way of life. In general, we can say that Peyia is a cross between a holiday in the slightly noisy city limits of Paphos, and a very quiet holiday in the remote Polis town.

Administratively, it belongs to Limassol, and one often hears the opinion that it is just a remote beach of Limassol. However, in fact, this is a full-fledged and independent resort for a relaxing beach holiday.

Pissouri is a beach resort, and its main "feature" is that it is an exceptionally cozy place. It is small, everyone knows each other, and you, too, after a few days of rest here will feel like your own. At the same time, despite the calm village atmosphere, this is a very clean and tourist-developed place.

The beach of Pissouri and the resort area is located in the same cozy as the town itself, the Bay of Pissouri Bay (Pissouri Bay) in the form of a crescent, and continuously stretches for more than a kilometer. Because of the purity of the water, it has been a proud owner of the blue flag of cleanliness and environmental friendliness for many years. Another reason that makes vacationers come here is water Entertainment. Here you can go windsurfing, kayaking, ride a banana, master the sapboard (paddle board), rent a jet ski, catamaran, kayak with a transparent bottom to observe underwater life.

Limassol (also Limassol or Lemesos) - a city and resort on the southern coast of Cyprus roughly midway between Larnaca and Paphos, and the country's two international airports (Limassol on the map). It is the economic center and the largest city in Cyprus by population, it is home to a little more than 100 thousand people. At the same time, it is considered the most Russian city in the country, since according to various estimates, from 7 to 20 percent of Russian speakers from different countries of the former USSR live here permanently. Many of them own real estate and businesses here, including hotel complexes or hostels, or rent out housing. Russian in Limassol can not only be heard on local radio or television, but also seen on shop signs, in advertising, and even on road signs.

Limassol is the most democratic resort in Cyprus. Here you can go for a beach holiday, and for entertainment, and to see the sights of the city or get acquainted with interesting places in this part of the island. It is equally suitable for young people who love parties, and families with children, and the elderly. It is one of the major cities of Cyprus and a papular Beach Resort. By the standards of Russia, this is a very small city, its population is a little more than 50 thousand people, but it is the fourth largest and one of the most important cities in Cyprus. The main international airport of the country is located here, there is a resort area with beaches and hotels, urban and intercity transport is well developed.

However, Larnaca is not the best beach resort in Cyprus, and the fault is the beaches, which, unfortunately, are not very beautiful. The fact is that the sand here is an ugly gray-black color, even with a hint of green. But if you have no prejudices on this score, then you can safely go here on vacation.

In addition to beach holidays in Larnaca, there are entertainment for tourists on land, but there are not very many of them. With children, you can visit the large amusement park WOW Action Park, although it is far from the beach and the tourist center. In the evening, numerous cafes, restaurants and discos begin to work. The most famous night clubs of Larnaca: Club Deep, Time, XS Night & Day Club, Secrets Freedom Club.

Troodos (Troodos Mountains) – it's a large mountainous region in the central part of the island. The highest peak of Troodos and Cyprus in general is Mount Olympus( Olympus), its height is 1952 meters. There are many mountain villages, some of which are independent resort places; good asphalt roads are laid, which, among other things, lead to the very top of Olympus; there are hiking trails for trekking and hiking lovers; many natural and man-made attractions; ski lifts are equipped.

Troodos can be visited as an independent attraction in the form of a day trip or a self-guided trip or an organized excursion from Limassol (most convenient) or from other resorts. Usually one day on such a trip is enough to get an idea of the mountainous part of the country, and see the most interesting and beautiful places. To do this, there are several developed routes along the roads with visits to individual attractions and mountain villages.

In winter, there are several ski slopes and lifts on the slopes of Mount Olympus. The ski season takes place in January and February, sometimes moving to March. The best place to settle for skiing is the town of Troodos, which is located just 4 kilometers from the summit and the ski lifts.
