What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
Paphos castle or Fortress of Paphos (Pafos Castle, Paphos Medieval Fort) - one of the oldest buildings in Paphos, which has survived to this day in very good condition. Initially, the fort on this site was built by the Byzantines, but in the XIII century, as a result of an earthquake, it was destroyed and rebuilt. In the XVI century it was again destroyed and restored, and almost in this form it has come down to our days.
The castle tower consists of two floors. On the ground floor there is an open courtyard and it can be visited free of charge. The second floor is actually an observation deck, the entrance to which is paid. From above, there is a view of the harbor and the Archaeological Park, and nothing more.
