What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
On a rented car or with a tour, you should definitely go to the Troodos Mountain region (Troodos) on a one – day car route, visiting several interesting natural and man-made attractions along the way, and ending it at the highest point of Cyprus-the top of Mount Olympus (Olympus). There are several options for how to get to the end point, but all of them will somehow lead you to the top. There are many places to stop on this route and what to see, here is our option:
- Lofou Village
- Pera Pedi Dam Dam
- Milia medieval bridge
- Millomeri Waterfall
- Village Of Platres
- Village and resort of Troodos
- Top of Mount Olympus
- Kakopetria Village
- On the way back Laneia village
Other options are possible. See the sights on our map of Cyprus, and you can download points from it via KMZ/KML files in the Navigator or on your smartphone for use in MAP programs like Organic Maps.
🕐 Working hours
it is better to start the route as early as possible in the morning in order to have time to see everything and return the same day.
💵 Entrance fee / ticket price
free, all attractions on the route are also free.
🚶 How to get there
All this way can be done independently on a rented car within one day, armed with a navigator or smatphone with a navigation program or offline maps. The road in both directions will take about 120 kilometers. Please note that in the winter season (from December to February) there may be snow on mountain roads, and a simple passenger car without spikes may not overcome some climbs. Already in March, almost all the snow on the roads disappears, you can safely drive all the way on any car.
There are also ready-made group and individual tours from Limassol and other resorts to Troodos along approximately the same routes with a stop near attractions. They can be purchased locally in Limassol, or booked online:
