What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting

Laneia village (Laneia Village, also Lania) - one of the traditional mountain villages located on the slopes Gore Troodos on the way from Limassol. It is considered one of the most picturesque and photographed villages on the route to Troodos. True, there are no viewing points with panoramic views of the mountains and the village, as many expect to see, it's about something else... These are narrow streets; bright facades of houses decorated with clay figures; ancient doors at the entrances to courtyards and houses.

There are several museums supported by the village community and available for free (donations of 1-2 euros are welcome): the wine press Museum, the shoemaker's workshop Museum, and the Commandaria Museum of village history. You can also visit the Michel Owen Gallery, see the ancient Greek Orthodox Church, have lunch in a traditional tavern. The center of the village is very tiny, so with all the museums you can go around it in 30-60 minutes, you can spend another hour in a tavern.

Also in the village of Lanea you can stay for a day or two in one of the placement options. There is absolutely nothing to do here, but you can walk around the neighborhood, and even visit neighboring villages.
