On Koh Samuithere are several large shopping centers in different parts of the island where you can buy anything. If there is no opportunity or desire to go somewhere far to the mall, then in almost all resort areas you can find small 7-Eleven or Family Mart stores where you can buy everything you need. Manufactured goods and ready-made food can also be purchased in shops on the streets and from stalls.
In addition, there are several other interesting places for shopping on Koh Samui – these are street and night markets. Of particular interest may be the traditional Thai night markets. There are several of them on the island, and many of them appear and disappear quite spontaneously, in different areas. But there are several night markets that have been operating for several years at the same time (after 18 hours) on the same days:
- Sunday night market on Lamai Beach
- Friday night market on Bophut Beach in Fisherman Village
- Saturday night market in Naton
- Thursday night market in the area Maenam Beach
- Several small night markets are open on different days Chaweng Beach

And now a little more about shops and shopping centers:
7 Eleven Stores
Among the most famous, of course, are the small shops of the 7 Eleven chain. They are found almost at every turn. You can buy only the most necessary things in them: water, lemonades, beer, chips, nuts, instant noodles, bread, yogurt, milk; hygiene items, sunscreen, shampoo, phone cards and all sorts of little things. To the absolute advantages, we note that they work around the clock.
Family Mart Stores
The second most famous store, along with 7 Eleven. The range of goods and products is similar, they are also found everywhere.
Central Festival Samui
The largest shopping complex on Koh Samui is located in the Chaweng district. It includes 3 floors and more than 200 shops, restaurants and bars offering everything you want, including brands from world manufacturers, accessories, etc. On the ground floor there is a food court, bars, restaurants, a playground and a recreation area; on the second floor you can visit attractions and a cinema hall.
🕐 Working hours: 11:00 – 23:00.
Big C
Another large shopping center, where you can also buy almost everything, both food and household items and clothes. In its building, which occupies 2 floors, in addition to the Big C supermarket itself, there are clothing stores, shoes, children's goods, toys, cosmetics, cafes, restaurants and a spacious food court where you can eat inexpensively.
🕐 Working hours: 09:00 – 24:00.
Lotus's Go Fresh
Lotus's Go Fresh stands alongside Big C in importance. It presents similar products and the same range of products, although the prices are slightly lower. The supermarket also houses small shops and boutiques with different types of goods, bars and restaurants, among which the food court occupies a favorite place.
There are three Lotus's Go Fresh shopping malls on Koh Samui: one in Lamai district, the second – the largest with bowling alley and cinema hall - in Chaweng, the third - small and without food court – in Nathon. There is another small Tesco in the depths of the Bophut area near the airport.
🕐 Working hours: 08:00 – 24:00.
Makro Cash&Carry
Makro supermarket in many ways resembles our Metro, focused more on the wholesale buyer, and sells retail, but certain types of goods. It offers a wide range of food and non-food products. However, there is no food court and entertainment here.
There are two Makro shopping centers on Koh Samui: one on the ring road in the Bophut area; the other, new, on Lamai beach.
🕐 Working hours: 08:00 – 22:00.
Tops
Supermarket with food, alcohol, clothing, household items and other goods. The assortment here is not very rich, but it is quite acceptable for a short stay on the island. There is no food court and entertainment here.
🕐 Working hours: 09:00 – 21:00.
