Chaweng Beach and District (Chaweng Beach) is located on the west coast, almost at the airport (Chaweng Beach on the map). The area and the beach have a length of 7 kilometers. This is the most developed and democratic area, and one of the best beaches of Koh Samui. The infrastructure is very well developed here: a variety of accommodation options from the cheapest hostels to luxury hotels, an abundance of nightlife, shopping malls and other entertainment. If other beaches can be called resort areas, then Chaweng is a real city. It's hard to say what can't be found here. This is the place to go if you don't have a plan and a pre-booked hotel. Only here you can quickly find accommodation for any budget upon arrival. It is also worth going here if you want to be in the center of the bustling entertainment and nightlife of the area.

As for the beach itself, it is very good in quality here: wide, with snow-white sand, and very long. But this is at the same time the most crowded place, and in high season there is simply nowhere to fall, especially in the center. If you move to the edges of the beach, to the north or to the south, there are significantly fewer people. The main road is separated from the beach by a dense building of hotels, so there is no disgrace in the form of trucks passing near the beach. At the same time, it is possible to drive up to the sand itself by motorcycle or car through many paths leading to the beach from the main road. There is plenty of entertainment on Chaweng Beach, you can find absolutely everything that your heart desires, and at every turn.

Low tide on Chaweng are weak, at least the depressing picture of rocks and driftwood does not open to the eye, only the water goes further from the shore. At the same time, the slope of the bottom is very weak, and you have to move a good hundred meters from the water's edge to get your feet off the bottom. During the strongest tides, you can even walk to two islets located in the water area.

Getting to Chaweng is easy. It is located right next to the airport, and a ring road passes through the area, along which songteo (fixed-route taxis) run. A taxi ride from the airport will cost from 400 baht, a minivan from the airport - 120 baht, and you can take a minibus from the Nathon pier for 80 baht per person.

Hotels in Chaweng are some of the most inexpensive on the island, but the most important thing is that there are just a huge number of them here and for every budget. The price for simple rooms without air conditioning starts from 400 baht (see Thailand currency exchange rate) for two, but in low season you can find an air-conditioned room for 500 baht. Even if your hotels in Koh Samui is not booked in advance, you can easily find it here by walking along the main street of the area that runs along the beach. Accommodation in bungalows on the shore is not to be found here, all of them have now been replaced by large hotels and guest houses. When choosing a hotel location, take into account the proximity to bars and nightclubs: during the day, a seemingly quiet neighborhood turns into a noisy club area in the evening, and sometimes it is not possible to get enough sleep.

Shopping in Chaweng is also the most developed in all of Koh Samui. They sell everything here and at every turn, including on the beach. There are many markets, and in the northern part there is a huge mall Central Festival.

Summing up, regarding Chaweng, we can say that this is one of the most successful and developed beaches of Koh Samui, but you can forget about a quiet secluded vacation in a bungalow on the shore here.
