Surin Beach in Phuket is located on the west coast in the central part of the island just south of Bang Tao beach and 15 kilometers from Patong (Surin on the island map). It is separated from Bang Tao by a cape, and it is impossible to get from one to the other along the shore.

Surin beach is very tiny, only 500 meters. Nevertheless, a full-fledged and developed tourist area has been formed here. A few years ago, this place was an underdeveloped and calm beach, but the area is developing rapidly, and there is almost nothing left of the former village silence and natural beauty of the beach. A feature of Surin is the presence of a youth hangout, including surfers, and a small number of family vacationers, but gradually this place is becoming more and more a regular resort for package tourists.

As for the infrastructure of the district, everything is there. There are few hotels, prices are above the average for the island. There are no hotels on the first line, except for a couple a little to the north with their bays and beaches. There are small shops and shops with the most necessary things everywhere, and one shopping center is Surin Plaza. There are motorcycle and car rentals, travel agencies at every turn. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars open late. You can even say that there is a nightlife here, but at least for those who don't like to go to bed early, there will be something to do here.

The beach itself is very good here, but short, there is almost no place for walking along the shore or playing with children. In high season, everything is very densely packed with sun beds, and it can not be called sparsely populated. The sand is very fine, almost white, pleasant to the touch. The slope of the bottom is sharp, the depth is great. The water is clear, you can even swim with a mask on the edges of the beach near the stones. The waves are big, especially in low season, so there are a lot of surfers. Right on the beach there is a cafe, surfboard rental, jet skis and other entertainment.

Get to Surin Beach from the nearby Bang Tao beach, if desired, you can walk. You can only get from the airport by taxi from 1000 baht (see currency of Thailand, exchange rate) or go with bus transfers via Phuket Town. From Phuket Town with The old bus station a shuttle bus goes here for 50 baht, and you can also use it to get to the neighboring beaches Bang Tao and Kamala. From all other beaches by minibus you will have to go only with a transfer in Phuket Town, or by tuk-tuks (up to Patong, for example, 300 baht).

Hotels in Surin are not very many, and by local standards, accommodation prices are above average. Prices for a room for two in high seasons start from 800 baht, but such options are usually busy, and you need to search and book in advance. There are also few rental options, and those that exist are very expensive. There are no hotels on the first line except for two hotels in a separate bay with its own beach north of Surin. Other hotels are located 200 meters or more from the shore.

Its peculiarity is the presence of a large number of young people and its own party, but everything is changing quickly, and it turns into the most ordinary beach area. Prices are high here, there are few options for accommodation. The beach is beautiful but crowded, with big waves, suitable for surfing.
