Description and is it worth visiting

Monster Aquarium Pattaya — a vibrant underwater world with jellyfish and corals

Monster Aquarium (often called "Aquarium of Monsters") is an indoor aquarium and zoo in northern Pattaya, in the Naklua area. It's actually way more than just fish tanks: under one roof, there's an aquarium, a terrarium, enclosures with birds, predators, rodents, monkeys, and a separate petting zoo area with farm animals. The place is great for both adults and kids.

Inside you'll see marine creatures, birds, reptiles, predators (like a serval), rodents, monkeys, as well as farm animals – goats, sheep, dwarf cows. In the petting zoo, you can feed many of the animals (food costs 20 baht). For an extra fee, you can have your photo taken with birds and reptiles (30 and 50 baht). There are also some unusual specimens – for example, a two-headed turtle. In our opinion, although the animals are in enclosures, the conditions are pretty decent.

The petting zoo area has a bit of a specific smell, but overall it's clean. Inside, there's air conditioning and fans, and restrooms are available. A visit with feeding will take about 2–3 hours – the place is big and packed with things to see.

In our view, this is a great alternative to Khao Kheow Zoo, which is farther away and takes more time to get to. Monster Aquarium is much closer, easier to visit, and you don't have to walk much – everything is compact. So we definitely recommend it if you're not up for a long trip to Khao Kheow. Even if you visit both, you won't regret it.

Money-saving tip: if you want to buy tickets to Monster Aquarium for less than at the box office, head over to Trip.com. They accept all cards, including Russian ones and SBP, and the price is about 30% lower.

🚶 How to get there

Monster Aquarium is located in northern Pattaya, in the Naklua area, but it's far from the beaches (Monster Aquarium on the map). You can't walk there, and songthaews don't go here. A taxi via Grab, Bolt, or Maxim will cost from 100 baht (approx. 3.03 USD), and it takes 10–20 minutes depending on your starting point. For those with their own transport, there's free parking.
