Description and is it worth visiting
The Sanctuary of Truth — a giant wooden structure located on the seashore in the northern part of Pattaya, in the Naklua area. Construction began in 1981 and continues to this day. The building is 105 meters tall, and every square centimeter is covered with unique carved sculptures on themes of philosophy, religion, and Eastern mythology. Next to it, there's a little jungle corner with wooden statues, a cafe, and you can even ride elephants.
However, tourist reviews of this place are very mixed. Some say it's incredibly beautiful and perfect for photos, others say there's nothing to do there and the price is too high. An entry ticket costs from 500 baht (15.22 USD) for daytime admission — in our opinion, that's a bit much for an hour of sightseeing. But the decision is yours, of course. If you want to see unique wooden architecture and get some striking shots — maybe it's worth it. If you're on a tight budget, you can skip it.
When visiting the temple, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- There's a strict dress code, like in regular temples: covered shoulders, no short skirts or shorts. They might give you a wrap at the entrance, but it's better to dress appropriately in advance.
- No food or drinks inside the museum.
- Professional photo or video cameras are not allowed (amateur phone photos are permitted).
- You have to wear a hard hat during your visit — it's not very aesthetic, but it's safe (restoration work is constantly ongoing inside the temple).

🚶 How to get there
The temple is located on the shore in the northern Naklua area (Sanctuary of Truth on the Pattaya map). You can get there by taxi (a trip from central Pattaya starts at 100 baht (3.04 USD) via Grab, Bolt, Maxim). A budget option: take a songthaew along Naklua Road, get off at Soi 12, and then walk almost 2 kilometers toward the beach.
