Grand Canyon Chonburi (often simply called "Pattaya Grand Canyon") is not a natural wonder, but an abandoned stone quarry that filled with water over time. The lake's depth reaches about 30 meters. On a sunny day, the water is indeed emerald green, and during the rainy season it turns almost black. There's a metal viewing platform with railings above the canyon, offering a view of the lake and surroundings. There's a small cafe nearby.
In our opinion, this place is definitely not worth a dedicated visit. Visiting the viewpoint itself takes literally 5 minutes — you look, take a couple of photos, and move on. However, due to the distance (50 km from the center) and traffic, the journey will take half a day, so plan the trip only if you have spare time and have already seen all the main attractions in Pattaya. It makes sense to stop by on the way, for example, when visiting Khao Kheow Zoo or during a trip to the Heaven and Hell Temple. If you're just looking for something to do and enjoy unusual photos, you can set aside time and go, but be prepared that most of your time will be spent on the road. Next to the canyon, there's a mountain of construction gravel, which for some reason people also like to take photos with — it's a matter of taste.
Swimming in the lake is not possible — the quarry slopes are very steep, and it's impossible to get down to the water. A bit further, from another entrance, there's LOF LAND — a space under construction with cyberpunk-style installations (or something like that, it's not entirely clear yet). As of 2026, it's still under construction, but they already charge 300 baht (9.1 USD) per person for entry, which includes one drink. This place is for those who like to take unusual selfies, and nothing more. The area is divided into three zones — Earth, Moon, and Mars, with installations like a UFO and a rocket. In our opinion, 300 baht for entry to an unfinished park is clearly an overpriced ticket.

Grand Canyon is open 24/7. LOF LAND is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (on Mondays — from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM). Both locations are best visited in sunny weather — on cloudy or rainy days, there's nothing to see, the water loses its emerald color, and photos turn out dull.

🚶 How to Get There
Grand Canyon Chonburi is located approximately 50 km from central Pattaya (Grand Canyon on the map). The best way to get there is by rented car or bike. A taxi via Grab, Bolt, or Maxim apps will cost about 500–700 baht (15.17 USD) one way. Public transport doesn't go here, so you can't get there without your own vehicle or a taxi.
Be careful when choosing your route: the last few dozen meters to the cafe are on a dirt road. And if the navigator takes you along the road next to the railway tracks from the north, you'll have to drive almost a kilometer on dirt. We recommend avoiding this route and choosing the approach from the south.
