Nopparat Thara beach in Krabi is located northwest of Ao Nang and is separated from it by a stone cape (Nopparat Thara on the map of the province). Usually refers to Ao Nang as one of its beaches, while being part of the Hat Nopparat Thara / Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. The length of the beach is two kilometers.
It is believed that Nopparat Thara is a wilder and more natural beach than Ao Nang. Here, as well as in Ao Nang, there is a highway just a few meters from the water's edge, but it is much less busy, and there is no endless row of shops and agencies on the other side of it, as in Ao Nang. There is no long equipped walking area along most of the beach, which is why it only benefits. All entertainments such as jet skis and bananas are prohibited here (after all, this is the territory of the national park), you can't even find deck chairs and umbrellas for rent. In the western part, very close to the shore, there are several beautiful coral islets that can be reached on foot at low tide.
However, it would be wrong to say that this is the perfect beach. Unfortunately, it is far from ideal. The sandy strip here is narrow, with only a few meters of sand remaining at high tide in some places. And in the eastern part, the one closer to Ao Nang, a protective stone border stretches along the water's edge, forming an embankment and not adding beauty to the beach at all. If you move further to the west, the curb disappears and the beach becomes more natural, but at the same time there is also natural garbage thrown ashore by the waves. The beach is also not very suitable for swimming: the water is muddy, at low tide it goes far, very shallow, the bottom is clayey and unpleasant. And one more minus: a lot of locals come here for picnics on the beach for the weekend, and a lot of garbage remains after them.
There is an infrastructure on Nopparat Tara, especially in the part that is closer to Ao Nang. Of course, it is not as developed as in Ao Nang, but everything you need for a holiday is available, including hotels and travel agencies. When choosing a hotel, we recommend choosing accommodation with a swimming pool, because swimming here is not the best pleasure.
