Description and is it worth a visit
Wat Ampharam Temple (Hua Hin's main temple), also called Wat Hua Hin, is the main temple and monastery of the city, and one of the main attractions in the center of Hua Hin. Architecturally, it does not stand out in any remarkable way, one could even say that it is one of the most ordinary temples of Thailand, but in practical application the temple is very important. It is at once a temple, a monastery, a crematorium and a cemetery. Of course, the cemetery here is not in the same sense as you might expect. In Thailand it is customary to cremate, the ashes are buried in urns, immuring them in temple buildings.
The territory of the temple is quite large and consists of several buildings. You can walk here quite calmly, go into any buildings, no one will tell you anything. It is only important to observe the traditional rules of behavior: take off your shoes at the entrance, do not enter the temple in miniskirts, short shorts, with open shoulders.
Anyone can visit the temple, regardless of faith. In the early morning, near the temple, monks accept donations from residents, you can also participate in this action.
Interestingly, the temple is almost directly adjacent to the most depraved Hua Hin district, where bars with girls work all night long. It is also surprising that practicality defeated the religiosity of the Thais, and on the territory of the temple they organized the main car parking of the city.
