Klai Kang Won Palace is another royal palace – or rather, the residence of the king and his family in Hua Hin. The name can be translated as "Far From Worries." It was completed in 1929 by King Rama VII, and it's still used by the royal family. But during periods when no family members are here, it's open to all visitors.
Actually, it's hard to call this a palace – it's more like a royal country house. It's built of wood, said to be valuable teak, in a European style with Spanish motifs. On the ground floor there's nothing but the park. The rooms are on the second floor, and you have to pay extra to enter them.
When visiting the palace, you must strictly follow the dress code. If you're dressed for the beach, you can borrow a free cover-up at the entrance, leaving a 100 baht deposit. Photography inside the palace is strictly prohibited.

🚶 How to Get There
Located two kilometers from the city center along the main Phetkasem Road (on the map), you can walk there. The entrance from the road is inconspicuous, but you can recognize it by the royal regalia and military guards.
