Keep in mind that many departmental museums at enterprises (automobile plant, Krasnoe Sormovo plant, etc.) do not always work on schedule, and sometimes to get into them, you need to call in advance. Also keep in mind when planning a trip to Nizhny Novgorod that in many museums, especially state museums, Monday and Tuesday are days off.

Shchelokovsky farm The architectural and Ethnographic Museum-Reserve Shchelokovsky Khutor is also called the "Museum of wooden architecture" or simply "Shchelkovsky Khutor". This is a thematic Museum of traditional wooden buildings of Russia. In total, there are at least 15 unique examples of Russian architectural and construction culture of the 17-20 centuries. These are houses, huts, barns, Mills, outbuildings. Moreover, you can inspect them not only from the outside. Russian Museum of photography in Nizhny Novgorod The museum is dedicated to the history of Russian photography. Rukavishnikov estate and historical and architectural museum
Rukavishnikov Manor Museum It is one of the most important architectural monuments of the city. This estate, on a scale rather resembling a palace, belonged to the family of the owner of a steel mill and a large usurer - interest-bearing Rukavishnikov. Initially, it was just a house that Rukavishnikov got for debts, but his heir created from it a real palace in the style of an Italian palazzo. Museum of technology and defense industry in Victory Park Although during the Great Patriotic War there were no battles on the territory of the then City of Gorky, 56 military units and formations, 72 detachments of the people's militia were formed here. In honor of the 40th anniversary of the victory, the Victory Park and the Open-Air Museum of technology and defense industry were laid. Museum of the Krasnoe Sormovo plant The Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard is one of the oldest shipbuilding enterprises in Russia.
