RussiaNizhny Novgorod State Art Museum it is one of the oldest regional museums. It consists of two sections located in two different buildings: one on the territory of the Kremlin, the other in a 10 – minute walk on Verkhnevolzhskaya embankment Street, 3. each of the buildings presents its own theme: on the territory of the Kremlin, domestic art of the 14-20 centuries, and on the Verkhnevolzhskaya embankment-Western European art. The basis of the collection is paintings, but there are also sculptures and dishes. In addition to the permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions of various topics are held, access to which is at an additional cost.

Attention! The building on the territory of the Kremlin in 2021 is under reconstruction. Instead, it is proposed to visit temporary exhibitions in Nizhny Novgorod exhibition complex on Minin and Pozharsky Square, 2/2.
