Rukavishnikov estate and historical and architectural museum - one of the most important architectural monuments of the city of the 19th century. The estate, on a scale rather resembling a palace, belonged to the family of the owner of a steel mill and a large usurer - interest-bearing Rukavishnikov. Initially, it was just a house that he got for debts, but his heir created a real palace from it in the style of an Italian palazzo.
But do not think that visiting the estate will be limited to a boring acquaintance with the architecture of the building. Inside there is the Nizhny Novgorod State Historical and architectural museum-reserve, thematic exhibitions are held (for an additional fee), excursion service with interesting stories is offered. Apart from the architecture and beauty of the building itself, the exposition is rather meager, there are few exhibits and in general it is not clear what the museum is about. There is a section on the history and present of the Rukavishnikov family, a collection of stamps, coins, an imitation of the situation of that time, a room dedicated to V. I. Lenin and the revolution. Without excursion accompaniment, during which they tell more about the history of the family and the house than about the exhibits, the museum will not impress very much, so we highly recommend purchasing an excursion with entrance tickets.
Unfortunately, you can only take pictures in the estate in three rooms: a large ballroom, a lilac Hall and a staircase at the entrance to the museum. Entrance to the museum is only in shoe covers, which can be taken free of charge in tanks near the ticket office. If you do not want to use free rag shoe covers (they are reusable and uncomfortable), you can buy new ones in the wardrobe for 5 rubles or bring your own.

from 11:00 to 18:00, Monday and the last Thursday of the month are days off.
💵 Entrance fee / ticket price
adults-250 rubles / schoolchildren and pensioners-170 rubles / preschoolers-free of charge. Excursion service 450/250 rubles. The last Wednesday of the month is free for persons under 18 years; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00 (except holidays) - free for persons under 16 years.

the museum is located in the tourist center 10 minutes walk from the Kremlin, Verkhne-Volzhskaya nab., 7 (Manor on the map). You can get from other parts of the city by bus №№ 19, 4, 40, 45, 52, 58, 90; taxis T2, T24, T31, T40, T45, T60, T69, T85, T90, t97, T98 to the stop "Military Academy".
