Hoi An

Hoi An is a small town in the central part of Vietnam, on the coast of the South China Sea. It is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Hoi An is one of Vietnam's popular tourist destinations. The city is located 25 kilometers south of Da Nang, on the banks of the Thu Bon River, a few kilometers from the coast. Hoi An, also known by its ancient name Faifo, was an important and very busy trading port in the 16th and 17th centuries. Later, the center of trade moved to Da Nang, but in the heart of Hoi An-the Old Town, the spirit of an old trading city has been preserved.

Hoi An, more than any other place in Vietnam, preserves the atmosphere of the past centuries and is a favorite tourist destination. In 1999, Hoi An was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site as an example of a Southeast Asian trading city of the 15th-19th centuries.

Hoi An is sometimes referred to as an open-air museum city. To date, there are 844 officially recognized buildings of historical significance in Hoi An. Among them are ancient Chinese houses, Cham temples, shops, public buildings, graves. Here you will spend hours walking through the ancient quarters of the city, visiting the numerous meeting rooms of Chinese communities, charming ancestral homes, some of which are already the fifteenth generation of the same family. You will not stay here without a great beach holiday.
