Vietnam is considered a warm southern country, and many mistakenly believe that when and at whatever resorts you go to Vietnam, you will be greeted everywhere by beautiful warm weather. However, like most countries in the region, Vietnam is subject to two seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. And given the large length of the country from North to South, these seasons at the same time fall on different parts of the country.

• January

  In January in Vietnam, it is best to relax in the southern resorts (Mui Ne, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc island, Vung Tau, Con Dao island), so dry and hot weather.

  In the center, in Nha Trang, Da Nang and Hoi An, the echoes of the ending rainy season spoil the weather a little, but in general the time for a beach holiday is not bad, especially in the second half of the month.

  Not comfortable, perhaps, only in the North (Hanoi, Sapa, Halong), where in the winter months it is too cold, the temperature drops to 10 degrees, and in mountainous areas below zero. And if this is not essential for Hanoi, it is enough just to stock up on warm clothes, then in Halong Bay excursions along the Bay accompanied by a piercing cold wind look unpleasant. In the mountainous regions of Sapa, even snow falls. The situation in the North is saved only by the almost complete absence of precipitation.

• February

  The rainy season ends in all resorts, the weather is excellent. It is not comfortable only in the north, where the cold weather still persists, and a beach holiday is out of the question.

• March

  One of the best months to stay in Vietnam anywhere. Precipitation is minimal throughout the country, in the south and in the center it is not too hot. In the north, it is already warm enough to go without warm clothes during the day, only at night it becomes cool.

• April

  Wherever you go on vacation in Vietnam in April, everywhere you will find warm weather with a minimum of precipitation. This is just the perfect month to travel around the country.

• May

  In May, the weather is good at all resorts, and you can safely go anywhere. In some regions, the rainy season starts in May (Dalat, Hanoi, Con Dao island), but rains are rare and do not interfere much with beach holidays.

• June

  The best place to relax in June is the resorts of central Vietnam (Nha Trang Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue). In the south and North, the weather goes to extremes, the rainy season begins and merciless heat, storms are possible in Halong Bay. If you do not tolerate high temperatures, it is better to avoid large cities (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City).

• July

  It gets even hotter, and the rainy season in the North and South is even stronger. Rest this month is best at the resorts of the center (Nha Trang Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue). In the north, the weather is completely spoiled, and due to heavy rains and storms in Sapa and Halong it is better not to meddle, because excursions are often canceled.

• August

  In August, if you go to Vietnam for a beach holiday, then only in the central regions (Nha Trang, Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue). To the torrential rains in the north are added prolonged downpours in the southern resorts. And even if you are lucky and there are no rain for a while, the sky in the North and South is almost always covered with heavy clouds.

• September

  Almost all resorts in Vietnam have a doge season, only in the north, where only the Cat Ba island is popular beach resorts, there is excellent dry weather. But if a few short torrential rains a day, sharply replaced by good sunny weather, do not frighten you, then you can safely go to Nha Trang, Da Nang or Hoi An.

• October

  This is one of the worst months for a beach holiday. In central Vietnam (Nha Trang, Hoi An, Da Nang, hue) comes extreme bad weather, typhoons are possible, and in the southern resorts the rainy season is just beginning to end. In principle, you can go to the south (Phu Quoc, Mui Ne, Vung Tau), but you should be prepared for sudden changes in weather from sunny to showers. In the north, the weather is just great, but there is only one beach resort-the Cat Ba island . But for walks in Hanoi, hiking in the mountains in Sapa and cruises in Halong Bay, you can not think of a better time.

• November

  In November, in the North and south (Phu Quoc, Mui Ne, Vung Tau), excellent weather is established, but in the central part (Nha Trang, Hoi An, Da Nang) it is better not to go for a beach holiday, the probability of typhoons is high.

• December

  In December, especially in the second half, you can go to any resort. The rainy season ends, and its echoes still remain on the beaches of central Vietnam (Nha Trang, Hoi An, Da Nang), but in general, you can go there for a beach holiday. In the North and South, the weather is just great.
