Lang Co is a small village in central Vietnam on the coast of the South China Sea (Lang Co Bay) between Da Nang and Hue (Lang Сo on the map). The village itself is unremarkable and small, its population is mainly engaged in fishing. However, at the same time it is a tourist place that attracts a certain category of tourists.

Lang Сo, as a place to relax, is not suitable for every tourist. You can not call the village remote and secluded, because it lies on the shore and next to the main federal highway that runs through the country from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, but the situation here is very secluded. Yes, this place is considered a tourist resort, but the tourist infrastructure here is very poorly developed: except for a few hotels, there is nothing specifically for tourists. You will find no travel agencies and excursions, no cafes and restaurants, not even a money exchange. You can eat and have fun only on the territory of hotels, but as soon as you leave it, you will get to the stop of an ordinary fishing village, where you can find civilization in the form of shops, cafes for locals, and a couple of ATMs only along the main highway.

Oh yes, there are also several seafood restaurants right on the Shore, made in the form of temporary barracks. They can eat fresh seafood that will float in the water while you choose them on the menu, but they do not cook them very tasty, and the prices are high even by the standards of neighboring Da Nang. And yet, the sanitary conditions in these cafes are far from the best, because there is no running water with fresh water. Therefore, if on the way during excursions from Da Nang or Hue guides offer you to visit here, it makes sense to refuse.

There are not many hotels in Lang Сo. Inexpensive options for hostels can be found along the main highway, but there is nothing for tourists to do there, it will be too far to the beach. If you really settle here, it is best on the beach itself, where there are several hotels with their own territory, swimming pools and access directly to the beach. In them, vacationers are offered a full range of services so that they do not even have to go outside the hotel, but do not expect the level of Turkish accommodation options, when even entertainment programs are presented in hotels.

Beaches in Lang Сo

It is worth paying tribute, Lang Co has a great beach. According to some estimates, it is even considered the most beautiful in Vietnam. It stretches continuously for 10 kilometers, and all this is fine white and yellow sand, very pleasant to the touch. You can not call the beach perfectly clean, there is garbage thrown ashore by the sea and waste from the village, but the beaches at the hotels are cleaned. The slope of the bottom is normal: not too deep, which is suitable for children, and at the same time not too shallow, and even at low tide you can swim.

Due to the fact that Lang Co is exclusively a beach holiday, the influence of the seasons here is very pronounced. There are two tourist seasons:

• The dry season (high season) lasts from January to August. At this time there is little precipitation, the waves are small.
• The rainy season (low season) lasts from September to December. At this time, rains are frequent, the sky is overcast, and the wind and strong waves almost never stop. In principle, at this time you can go and even swim and sunbathe, but the whole tourist life here freezes, the hotels are empty. It may even turn out that in a huge hotel on the shore you will be the only guests, and there will not even be anyone to talk and have fun with.

Attractions and entertainment in Lang Сo

There are no entertainment and attractions here. As mentioned above, outside of hotels, this is an ordinary fishing village, which has everything you need to live, but nothing tourist. While walking around the village, you can see only the pagoda and the temple, the Catholic Church, the cemetery, but they are not of particular value and interest. Near Langko is Bach Ma National Park, Elephant Springs, Haiwan pass, Da Nang and its attractions, as well as the ancient capital Hue City. But in all these places you need to go either with an excursion, or rent a transport. In addition, it is better to go to Da Nang or hue for a couple of days.

How to get to Lang Сo

Lang Сo is 30 kilometers from Da Nang and 60 from Hue. All routes here lie only through these cities, there is no other way to get there. See more:

If a taxi or transfer is too expensive for you, then buses cost from 30,000 VND (approximately 11.71 USD) depart from Da Nang bus station during the day to fill up. It is also possible to take any bus from Da Nang towards Hue or vice versa and get off at the township on the main highway.

If you get here from Da Nang by rented transport, keep in mind that motorcycles can only pass through the Haiwan pass, travel on a shorter path through the tunnel is possible only by cars and buses.
