Well, those who are not ready for diving yet will still be able to explore the underwater life around the island with the help of snorkeling. Krabi / Krabi

Krabi is not an island at all, as travel agencies mistakenly call this resort. In fact, it is a whole province with many resorts and small resort islands. This is a relatively new, developing resort. There are not a lot of tourists here yet, it's not easy to get here, and there are not so many beaches. However, this place is more than worth a visit. There are national parks Than Bokkharani, Khao Phanom Bencha, caves Tham Phra Nang Nok, Tham Sua (known as the "tiger cave").

They rest here mainly at beach resorts Ao Nang and Railay, or stay for a few days in Krabi Town. The popular islands of Phi Phi and Lanta are also located in the province.

Koh Lanta is located in Krabi province in the south of the country (Lanta on the map). From a tourist point of view, the most important is Ko Lanta Yai (big Lanta), where the tourist infrastructure is located, and it is he who is meant when talking about Lanta as a resort.

Koh Lanta is popular with tourists as a place of beach holidays, excellent diving and snorkeling. Unlike other tourist destinations in the province of Krabi, including the most famous island of Phi Phi, Lanta is distinguished by tranquility, silence and open spaces. There is a much smaller concentration of noisy bars and discos and very long beaches, which are just nice to walk and admire the scenery. Therefore, the guests of the island are mostly older people and families with children.

However, this does not mean that you will die of boredom here. In fact, nothing like that, and the island has a full set of infrastructure and entertainment for tourists. You can find bars and discos, active entertainment and even simple shopping, you just need to know where to look.

Indeed, Phi Phi Don is the only one in the archipelago that is a full-fledged resort with its own infrastructure, beaches, and a large number of hotels.

This is a real paradise where the best for recreation is combined: beautiful sandy beaches, clear turquoise water, sun all year round, free youth atmosphere. But do not think that since this is a remote small island, a rustic atmosphere reigns here – rather the opposite. In the main village and the center of Ton Sai Island, noisy parties do not subside until late at night, progressive rhythms can be heard from bars and discos on the beaches. If this is not enough, you can arrange your party right on the beach, there will always be plenty of people willing to join you. If the noisy nightlife is not for you, and you want to enjoy the peace and quiet, this is not a problem: you can choose places to relax on remote beaches.

You can spend your entire vacation here, or spend only a few days. It will be much more interesting if you diversify your trip with a stop at other resorts in the province of Krabi. For example, you can spend half of your vacation on the mainland of the province, where you can get acquainted with the natural sights of Krabi, and the other half on Pi-Pi. You can also combine PhiPhi with a vacation in Phuket.

Chiang Mai / Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is the second largest and most important city in Thailand after Bangkok. It is located far to the north, 800 km from Bangkok in the Inthanon Mountains. Chiang Rai / Chiang Rai

Chang Rai was founded in 1262 as the capital of the kingdom of Lanna. Later, the capital was moved to Chang Mai. Currently, Chiang Rai is considered one of the most developing cities in Thailand.

Chiang Rai is located far in the north of the country, nearby (about 200 kilometers) from crossing the borders of Thailand, Myanmar (Burma) and Laos, or the world-famous "The Golden Triangle". The city and the province are attractive for their sights and monuments of antiquity. Mountains rise around the city, on the slopes of which local tribes still live. It is also easy to get to Laos and Myanmar from here.

All conditions have been created and are developing for tourists here, but this place is not very popular with Russian tourists. Mostly the city is visited by local wealthy tourists.

Koh Chang Island or Chang (Thai for "co" - island) is located 300 kilometers southeast of Bangkok, near the border with Cambodia, and is the second largest island in Thailand after Phuket. This place is quite a popular holiday destination for tourists from all over the world, as well as residents of Thailand.

Largely untouched by modern civilization, Koh Chang has retained its charm. The locals still live a quiet, measured life, mainly due to fishing, fruit growing and rubber cultivation. Therefore, here you can get very close to the culture and way of life of ordinary provincial Thai residents. Chang Island has become popular among tourists due to its snow-white beaches, rich nature untouched by tourists and a diverse underwater world. Many tourists are attracted to rest on the island also by its remoteness from civilization.

The gentle slopes of the mountains give me the opportunity to try myself in mountain tourism and hiking even for unprepared tourists. Excursions on the island are no longer aimed at visiting man-made attractions, but at exploring the natural resources of the island. This includes visiting waterfalls and caves, walking along the sea to uninhabited islands, getting acquainted with the life of fishing villages, jungle walks and elephant rides.

Due to the large number of underwater inhabitants and coral reefs surrounding the island, it is also a great place for diving. In the season, visibility under water reaches 30 meters.

Getting to Chang Island by land will not be difficult. There are many intercity bus services from Bangkok and other major cities of the country to Trat, and it is easy to get from Trat to Chang by ferry. There are also direct flights organized from tourist places by tourist buses to the island.

Hua Hin / Hua Hin

The oldest resort in Thailand is located 198 km south of Bangkok, on the western coast of the Gulf of Thailand. The resort is known for its long beach, fenced off from a small fishing village by a small rock. The beach stretches for three kilometers to the south – up to the Buddhist temples. The small village became famous after King Rama VII built his summer palace here. It is called Klai Kangwun, which means "Away from the hustle and bustle" in Thai. This place is a popular holiday destination for both Thais and foreign tourists. The entire tourist coast is abundantly covered with tropical greenery, and the hotels are separated by a large distance, which makes the rest even more isolated and peaceful. Hotels here are mostly of a high level, with their own territory, and, accordingly, expensive. Here is one of the largest golf courses in Thailand.

Of course, Hua Hin is not the best place for active youth looking for travel and entertainment, but rather a place of rest for tired businessmen. But even here you can find something to do: there are picturesque caves nearby, you can visit one of the nearby villages; Hua Hin night Market is very interesting for tourists; you can go to the nearby Sam Roi Yot National Park. Samet is a small island 200 km south of Bangkok. As a rule, the island is visited by tourists who spend most of their holidays in Pattaya.

The island is very small, only a few kilometers around the perimeter, and it can be easily explored on foot. In the northern part of the island there is a fishing village and a monastery with a temple, in the west and in the eastern part there is a national nature reserve.

The island is a paradise for lovers of untouched nature and those who want to spend a few days away from civilization. There are no night entertainment and noisy discos, but there are several restaurants and bars on the beach where you can enjoy a wonderful view while dining on the beach. You can explore the coral formations along the west coast and the neighboring islands of Talu and Man Nai, explore mountain trails by jeep or bike, go ocean fishing. The hotels here are not chic, but they have everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Lopburi / Lopburi

Lopburi is a city in Thailand, 150 kilometers north of Bangkok, a popular tourist destination and tourist attraction. The city is quite small (population 54 thousand people), and is the capital of the province of the same name.

Lopburi is rarely visited as an independent destination for the whole vacation, there is simply nothing to do here if you spend a few days. Usually they come here for one or two days, or even inspect it on their way. However, there is a lot to see in the city. After all, this is the ancient capital of Siam and one of the most ancient cities in Thailand (it is believed that it was founded before the 7th century).

The main attractions of the city are the temples and ancient ruins located in the old town. It is impossible to say that they represent something super outstanding. Everything is very similar to Ayutthaya, only in smaller quantities and on a smaller scale, but still there is something to see. Koh Lipe Island in Thailand (Koh Lipe, also Ko Lipe) is located in the south of the Andaman Sea, in Satun Province (Koh Lipe on the map of Thailand). It is the southernmost island of the state. On a clear day from here you can see the Malaysian archipelago of Langkawi, 30 kilometers away. The island is very tiny, from one end of it to the other only 3 kilometers.

Ko Lipe is a kind of standard of a paradise beach holiday in the style of "bounty" in Thailand. There are few tourists here yet, the place is not spoiled (although it is becoming more developed and crowded every year). Therefore, the main thing why tourists go here is a relaxing beach holiday. Also, people often go to Koh Lipa to explore underwater life, both with diving and snorkeling. Equipment can be found for rent here. There are many more small islands around, where you can go snorkeling or diving with an organized tour, or live on one of them as a "savage" in a tent. Another of the entertainments is fishing: representatives of almost a quarter of all tropical fish species of the world live in the vicinity of the island.

There is only one main walking street here. On it you can find a currency exchange office, souvenir shops, cafes, post office, pharmacy, travel agencies. But everything here is quite expensive, and the exchange rate is extremely unprofitable, so for thrifty tourists it is best to buy everything you need and change money on the mainland. There is no ATM here. Some hotels accept plastic cards, and also offer to cash out money from your bank card for a commission, which turns out to be extremely unprofitable. You can change both dollars and Malaysian ringgits at the exchange office, which is convenient if you come from Langkawi Island. There is Internet on the island: Wi-Fi is available in many hotels, there is an Internet cafe.

There are quite a lot of bars and restaurants on the island, located within 200 meters from the sea or right on the beach. This is the main evening entertainment on the island, there are no discos and nightclubs here.

There are no attractions on Koh Lipa, except for its beaches, nature and a small Buddhist temple.

Chumphon / Chumphon

Chumphon City (also Chumpon, Chumporn, Chumphon, Chumporn) is a small town in the south of Thailand, the capital of Chumphon province. The city and province can be geographically attributed to central Thailand, but still the atmosphere, population, traditions and cuisine are more similar to the Muslim south, although, of course, to a much lesser extent than the southernmost provinces. Chumphon is considered the beginning of the south of the country. The city is located 500 kilometers south of Bangkok on the east coast, washed by the waters of the Gulf of Thailand (Chumphon on the map of Thailand).

Although Chumphon is not a popular tourist destination, this city is always on the ear of tourists, especially independent travelers. The fact is that this is a transshipment point on the way between the capital and the southern resorts. Tourists visit the city especially often, whose goal is the island of Tao, Phangan, and sometimes Koh Samui. It is here that a transfer is made from a train or bus to ferries or high-speed catamarans to these islands. Although it is worth noting that it is faster and cheaper to get to Koh Samui and Phangan via Surat Thani, although it turns out to be a small detour.

As an independent tourist destination, Chumphon is not very popular among tourists. This is an ordinary Thai provincial town. Even a major transport hub, it can only be called a stretch, despite its importance on the way to the aforementioned islands. There is no entertainment here, the city falls asleep early in the evenings. Nevertheless, even here you can meet vacationing Europeans, tourist infrastructure, hotels. You will hardly meet mass tourists on vouchers here, but independent travelers who want to discover new places, little-known to mass tourists, stop here. And, by the way, the beaches of Chumpon are quite a popular holiday destination for local residents. The result of this state of affairs is lower prices for tourist services, accommodation and meals than at other popular resorts in Thailand.

Kanchanaburi / Kanchanaburi

Kanchanaburi (Kanchanaburi) is a city and province of the same name in central Thailand, west of Bangkok (Kanchanaburi on the map of Thailand). Both the city and the province are popular sightseeing tourist destinations. This region has gained particular popularity because of the famous railway bridge over the River Kwai located here, built during World War II by Western prisoners of war captured by the Japanese. The province is also considered one of the most beautiful in the central part of Thailand. There are several national parks here at once; the largest and most beautiful waterfall in Thailand – Erawan; caves; several waterfalls; hot radon springs; elephant parks where you can ride these animals through the jungle, or take care of them.
