Pa Tueng Hot Springs, also called The Hot Spring in Mae Chan, as well as Pon Nam Rong Hot, and also Huai Hin Fon are located in the north of Chiang Rai Province near the town of Mae Chan. It is quite far from Chiang Rai, the distance is 35 kilometers, and it may not be worth going here on purpose. After all, there are sources near Chiang Rai Pong Phra Bat and Pha Soet that can be reached it is much easier and closer, and bathing in them is cheaper. But if you move this way into the mountains towards the villages of mountain tribes, north to the border town Maesai and to The Golden Triangle, or travel along the northern road from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai via Taton and Fang, then it is necessary to come here.

There is no communal pool at the Pa Tueng springs, but there is a free foot pool. Theoretically, you can plunge into it completely, but this is not the way it is done here. And for full-fledged bathing, there are separate individual cabins worth 100 baht (3.07 USD) for one person and 90 baht for 2-4 people (2.76 USD). There are also massage and spa cabins here, and you can even rent a house for an overnight stay. And here it is absolutely possible and necessary to buy a wicker basket with chicken eggs, and boil them in natural boiling water. A basket with a dozen eggs costs 50 baht (1.53 USD), and it's even cheaper than buying raw eggs at the supermarket. When you cook them, you will be given salt and soy sauce.
