Vongvian Yai Railway Station

Wongwian Yai Railway Station is a small railway station in Thonburi district, from where the short line of the old WongwianYai-Maha Chai railway begins. This railway is not connected to any other railway lines, and after 35 kilometers it ends in the village of Maha Chai. At least 15 trains run here every day, 1 hour on the way, the cost is 10 baht. You can check the current schedule here - www.railway.co.th (the site may not open without a VPN with a Thai IP address).

The village of Maha Chai, where the railway leads from this station, is one of the largest fishing centers in Thailand. This is also an interesting attraction, known to tourists for the fish market, as well as the opportunity to plunge into the life of a real provincial Thailand, not yet spoiled by tourists. And after crossing from the terminal station in Makhachai across the river by ferry, you will get to another railway station, to another isolated railway line Ban-Mae Klong, which leads to Mae Klong village, famous for its unique railway market.

There are no facilities at the station except waiting benches and a toilet. Tickets are sold immediately before departure.
