Veselovka - a village and resort on the Taman Peninsula on the Black Sea coast (Veselovka on the map). This is a small village, its permanent population is less than 2000 people, but during the holiday season it is significantly replenished by visitors. Interestingly, before the revolution, it was called Holopuzovka, since the poor mostly lived here. After the revolution it was renamed Krasnoselovka, then Veselovka.

Veselovka is a traditional beach resort, however there is something that sets it apart from others. Thanks to the constantly blowing winds, the village is very popular with fans of active water sports – windsurfing and kitesurfing. Every year there is a kitesurfing festival, there are several camp sites and schools where you can rent equipment or undergo training. Veselovka is also a traditional beach resort. But recall that the resort is located on the Black Sea, not the Sea of Azov. Accordingly, the water here is colder, and sometimes even at the peak of the tourist season due to the rise of cold layers of water from the bottom during the natural phenomenon of upwelling, it becomes even colder, swimming becomes uncomfortable.

The beach in Veselovka is Sandy and very long, stretches for many kilometers, including along the Bugaz spit continuously to Anapa. Of course, there is enough space for everyone on this stretch, and this is one of the most sparsely populated beaches on Taman. It is not perfectly clean, there is garbage in the sand and even broken glass, but within the village it is cleaned.

Infrastructure and entertainment on the beach are poorly developed. There is a canopy from the sun, changing booths, sun loungers are offered for rent for 150 rubles. From entertainment, sometimes there is an inflatable trampoline, banana riding, catamaran rental and jet skis. But the availability of these entertainments is not guaranteed from season to season.

The village itself is poorly developed, there is no entertainment and special tourist infrastructure. In general, strictly speaking, the center of the village of Veselovka is located four kilometers from the shore, and the tourist part and accommodation options are located near the beach. There is a grocery store, a dining room, several cafes, a wine and beer store, stalls with goods for recreation. For serious purchases or services, you will have to go to the nearest major cities, for example, Anapa (90 kilometers) or Temryuk (70 kilometers). Sberbank ATM is only in the center of the village.

Hotels and accommodation in Veselovka, where to stay

In Veselovka you can stay in the center of the village or in the resort area near the beach. The center offers inexpensive accommodation in private guest houses and apartments, prices for accommodation are very affordable, from 300 rubles per person. But staying here you will find yourself 4 kilometers from the beach.

Directly in the resort area near the beach there are recreation centers, guest houses, campsites, you can even rent a house. The most budget option for a holiday in Veselovka is camping in a tent. There are at least two equipped campsites here:

• Car camping in Veselovka near Albatros guest house. Payment for the car is 500 rubles, or 150 rubles per person. The entrance to the campsite from the village along the beach along the sandy road (camping on the map).
• Yantarny BEREG auto camping. It is located two kilometers along the shore behind the Salt Lake (camping on the map). There is water and electricity. 250 rubles for the installation of a handkerchief, 300 rubles for a car. You can get here on a sandy road along the shore, or from the village of Artyushchenko.

You can also easily equip your camp with a tent, there is plenty of space here. Theoretically, you can park the car next to the camp on the beach, but in order not to have problems with the owners of the campsites and with the law (remember the water protection zone 500 meters from the sea), it is better to leave it in one of the paid parking lots.

Weather in Veselovka, tourist seasons

• 🌞 need to go from June to August. This is the beach tourist season in Veselovka, and the best time for kiting or windsurfing.

• ⛅ you can go in May and September. May is the beginning of the season, but it's still too cool for a comfortable swim. September is a velvety season with mild weather and still warm sea, but not as hot as in August.

Keep in mind that this is a very windy place, because it is not for nothing that lovers of catching wind in Sails and kites have chosen. Sometimes, even in the hot summer months, cold layers of water rise from the bottom of the Black Sea, making swimming uncomfortable for adults and not recommended for children. Such periods last from 2 to 10 days.

How to get to Veselovka

Veselovka is located 25 kilometers from Taman and 220 from Krasnodar on the Black Sea coast on the Taman Peninsula (Veselovka on the map). These are rather "deaf" places, and public transport here is very poorly developed. In fact, the village is connected only by a rare bus service to Krasnodar, Taman and Temryuk:

• From Temryuk through Taman runs twice a day bus number 453. from Temryuk at 10:30, 17:35, back at 05:00, 13:35. The journey is about an hour.
• From Krasnodar from the bus station Krasnodar-1 through Taman goes two or three buses a day. From Krasnodar departs at 07:00, 11:25 and 16:30, back at 05:25, 07:30 and 14:25. The journey is 5 hours.

Moreover, buses do not go to the beach and the resort area, but to the center of Veselovka to the stop on Central Street. From this stop to the beach to get another 4 kilometers. Given these difficulties, it is better to immediately go here on vacation in your car, or use a taxi in order to get from the nearest railway station or airport.

• To Veselovka by train

  The nearest railway station is the new Taman-Passazhirskaya station (railway station on the map). However, please note that transportation in these directions is not carried out by Russian Railways, but by the company carrier Tavria (Grand).   Upon arrival at the railway station to Veselovka will have to get a taxi, which will cost about 500 rubles.

• Veselovka by car

  The route by car from Moscow will pass along the M4 highway with paid sections, which, however, can be bypassed on free roads, which will take several additional hours in time. You can save about 900 rubles on a free road.

  From regions to the East (Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Yekaterinburg, etc.) the path can be laid through Volgograd.

Attractions and entertainment in Veselovka, what to see and do

In Veselovka there are no attractions, and traditional tourist entertainment is minimal. Nearby is the only natural attraction that can be attributed to the resort – a Salt Lake, which is below.

All other interesting places in the vicinity of Veselovka will have to be reached by Transport. We advise you to go to Taman and visit the museums there, the ancient settlement, the theme park "Ataman", take an excursion to the winery "Chateau-Taman". On Veselovka beach during the high season there are water activities: banana, jet ski rental, catamaran rental. But there is no guarantee that these entertainments will be presented during your trip. But there is always the opportunity to master active sports windsurfing or kitesurfing. On the Bugaz spit (along the beach towards Anapa) there is a famous windsurfing station winds club and several kite spots. They offer training and equipment rental. For reference, 1 hour of basic training costs from 1000 rubles without renting equipment, and from 1600 with equipment. Equipment rental will cost from 800 rubles per hour. Of course, you can come with your equipment and study or do it yourself for free.

Salt Lake in Veselovka

This lake is a natural landmark, officially a natural monument "Lake salty". It is a shallow bay of the Black Sea, separated by a sandbar 50-100 meters wide. In winter, water accumulates in it, and in summer it almost completely dries up and becomes covered with a crust, under which there is a therapeutic muddy mud saturated with trace elements.
