Taman is on the shore of the Sea of Azov in Krasnodar Krai (Taman on the map). The resort is 210 kilometers from Krasnodar and 1,500 from Moscow. For a holiday in Taman, it's most convenient to get there by your own transport, but if you don't have that option, you can also get there by public transport. You can do this by plane via one of the airports of Krasnodar Krai, by bus with a transfer in Krasnodar, Anapa or Temryuk, and since 2019 there's been the option of getting here on passing trains to Crimea.

But the easiest way to visit Taman is with ready-made tours, which usually already include a transfer directly to the holiday destination. True, it must be said that tours to Taman are rare and not available from every region. You can find a tour on these sites, or via the search form:

By Plane to Taman

Getting to Taman by plane will require going through one of the nearest airports with a transfer to a bus, taxi or train. Here are the nearest airports and the distance from them by road:

• Anapa Airport "Vityazevo" - 75 kilometers.
• Gelendzhik Airport – 160 kilometers.
• Krasnodar Airport "Pashkovsky" - 230 kilometers.

Usually the cheapest tickets from Moscow and the regions are offered to Krasnodar, but it's much more convenient to choose a flight to Anapa, since from there it's much easier and cheaper to get to Taman.

Getting from the airports on arrival is most convenient by taxi or by booking a tourist transfer. Travel time is from 1 hour.

You can order a taxi at the counter at the airport or in the parking lot at the exit of the terminal, but if you need to save money, it's better to order via the YandexGo app, the trip will cost from 1,800 rubles.

If you want to get there in comfort, you can book a ready-made tourist transfer in a private car in advance. It'll cost a little more than a taxi ride, but the driver will meet you on arrival at the airport, and you can head straight to the resort. If you decide to get there by bus or train, here are brief instructions for each of the airports:

• From Anapa Airport

  You can get there with a transfer to a bus or commuter train.

  To board the bus, from the airport you first need to take local No. 113 (formerly No. 3) to the Anapa bus station (runs once an hour from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, 30 rubles, 45 minutes travel time). From the bus station to Taman, bus No. 612 runs twice a day at 7:00 AM and 1:15 PM, travel time 2 hours, fare 190 rubles. The schedule may change and sometimes trips are canceled, so you'll have to check on the spot.

  To get there by commuter train, you also need to take bus No. 113 to the Anapa railway station, from where a commuter train departs three times a day at 9:18 AM, 12:34 PM and 7:45 PM to Taman-Passazhirskaya station (about this station below), the fare is 370 rubles. • From Krasnodar Airport

  From Krasnodar you can get there with a transfer to a bus or on passing trains. Buses from Krasnodar depart from two bus stations, Krasnodar-1 and Krasnodar-2, see the schedule here. In turn, getting to the bus stations from the airport is not hard by city buses or taxi, but you should allow at least 1 hour for this.

  There are no commuter trains to Taman from Krasnodar yet, but there are passing trains to Crimea that stop at Taman-Passazhirskaya station, you can check their schedule here.

• From Gelendzhik Airport

  Getting there from Gelendzhik is very inconvenient, since there's only one passing bus from Sochi, on which there may well be no seats, and in that case you'll have to go by taxi.

By Train to Taman

Since the opening of rail service across the Crimean bridge, it's become possible to get to Taman by train, though trains don't enter the resort itself, but stop at Taman-Passazhirskaya station, which is outside Taman, 6 kilometers from the center (railway station on the map). Most trains heading to Crimea stop here, and at the time of writing (2020) you can get to it from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kislovodsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Samara, Saratov, Volgograd and other cities along the route. You can find out whether there are trains from your city from the schedule for this station here, or look for tickets on the official Russian Railways website. Transportation on these routes is carried out by the branded carrier Tavria, and at the time of writing (2020) not all trains on these routes are displayed on the Russian Railways website, and even if Russian Railways shows that there are no trips or tickets, double-check on the carrier's website https://www.grandtrain.ru/.

By Bus to Taman

In the center of Taman at 5 Pushkina Street (bus station on the map) there's a small bus station, or rather, just a ticket office. It's open from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM with two breaks, 11:00 AM–12:00 PM and 1:40 PM–2:10 PM. It only serves intra-regional transportation (within Krasnodar Krai), there are no bus routes from other regions. Here are the destinations through Taman for reference:

• Veselovka–Novorossiysk
• Yantar–Temryuk
• Krasnodar–Taman
• Krasnodar–Veselovka
• Anapa–Volna
• Armavir–Taman
• Cherkessk–Taman
• Sochi–Taman

The bus schedule is unstable, and moreover, even at the height of the season some trips are canceled. There's no exact online bus schedule to Taman, so before the trip it's best to check it by phone 8-918-120-21-82 or 8-86148-3-12-32.

By Car

Of course, this is the best way to come to Taman on holiday. An excellent new E97 highway, built up to the Crimean bridge, leads here. From Moscow and St. Petersburg the route by car will go along the M4 highway with toll sections, which, however, can be bypassed on free roads, which will take several extra hours. You can save about 900 rubles by taking the free road.

From regions to the east (Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Yekaterinburg, etc.) the route can be laid through Volgograd. After Volgograd you can go through Salsk, Rostov or Elista (a small detour). If you go through Elista, we advise taking a break and seeing the unique attractions of Kalmykia, which will take half a day.
