Attractions and entertainment of Taman

Taman is the only resort on the Taman Peninsula that we would recommend to visit for lovers of attractions, especially historical places. To do this, people come here even from the resorts of Anapa, Gelendzhik and others in the Krasnodar Territory. The basis of the sights of Taman is the museum complex, which includes three must-visit places: the house-museum of M.Y. Lermontov in Taman, the archaeological museum, the open–air museum of the Hermonassa-Tmutarakan settlement. You can get acquainted with all the sights of Taman in 1-2 days, but keep in mind that Monday is a day off in all museums.

If you are going to rest directly in Taman, you will be able to get to the sights on foot, only you will have to go to the Ataman Park. From other resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, ready-made inexpensive excursions are offered for one day with a visit to the Taman museums and a walk around the resort, and in this case you will not have to worry about transport. In addition to interesting places in the village itself, it is also worth visiting other attractions of the Taman Peninsula. In particular, one of the business cards of the peninsula are mud volcanoes. It is also worth going on an excursion to lotus Lake, salt lake, or a ride on the new Crimean bridge. As for tourist attractions, they are absent in Taman. There are not even traditional beach activities. As a result, apart from sightseeing, relaxing on the beach, or sitting in one of the local cafes or restaurants, there is absolutely nothing to do here. The nearest places where you can go to have fun during the day, including with children: Golubitskaya, Vityazevo, Anapa.

Archaeological Museum

There are a lot of interesting and unique exhibits found during archaeological excavations on the territory of the Taman Peninsula, as well as raised from the bottom of the sea. These are mainly statues, pots, jugs, jewelry, household items. Of course it is worth a visit, and people come here even from other resorts of the Krasnodar Territory Anapa, Gelendzhik, Golubitskaya, etc. But it is best to do this with an excursion service or an individual excursion. Lermontov House Museum

In fact, this is not even a house-museum, but a museum-estate, since in addition to the house itself, it also includes a courtyard and a garden. The museum presents his personal belongings, works, photographs, recreated the atmosphere of that time. It is interesting to visit not only to get acquainted with the personality of the poet, but also to find out how they lived in the village 150 years ago. Cossack Museum

The exposition of the Museum of Cossacks consists of two halls. The first one presents a collection of military-themed artifacts raised from the bottom of the sea and found in the lands of the Taman Peninsula, including shards, coins, weapons. In the second hall, a stop of traditional Cossack life has been recreated. There are no signatures on the exhibits, but a conditional tour is held. All exhibits can be touched with your hands, photographed with weapons. What is also nice, each visitor is given a coin as a gift, which is minted right in front of you with a hammer blow. Hermonassa or Tmutarakan settlement

It is an important archaeological site and an open-air museum. This is not the most spectacular attraction: you will see only the ruins in their most modest form and from afar, and the whole visit will take no more than 5 minutes. But if you join the excursions, which are free of charge several times a day according to the schedule, you will learn a lot of new and interesting things, and you will definitely not regret it.

Tmutarakan is a city that existed in the Middle Ages at the site of excavations. It got its sonorous name from the Turkic name "the city of tarkan Taman". Ataman Theme Park

Ataman is a themed entertainment park created in the image of a traditional Cossack village. It is worth coming here for a few hours or even a whole day, and it is best during calendar events like the honey fair, Carnival, etc. events.

But even if there are no events during your trip, there is something to do here. You can walk around the huge complex and get acquainted with the traditional architecture, the arrangement of the Cossack courtyard and Kuban farms during an educational tour, participate in master classes. There is a place to eat Russian dishes and try the local vodka, for which there is a varenichnaya, barbecue, tavern and tavern on the territory. You can enter outbuildings and houses, touch exhibits and check in action.

Turkish Fountain

The Turkish fountain, or to be more precise, the Turkish well, is a historical landmark, and it is still operating. It was built in the XV century, as it is obviously easy to guess, by Turkish engineers. It applied innovative ideas for that time, thanks to which this source of drinking water appeared in this waterless place. The essence of the idea was simple: water gets here by condensation from the air on the walls of ceramic pipes that stretch from the fountain for many kilometers. Chateau Taman Winery

The Tamani Winery is the largest viticultural enterprise in Russia. You can visit it in the form of an educational tour, during which you will be shown and told about the entire cycle of wine and beverages production based on grape alcohol. The duration of the tour is a little more than an hour. At the end of the tour, adult visitors will be able to take a short sommelier course and taste 7 images of local products. If you can't get on the tour, you can visit a local branded store where you can buy the products of the factory ranging from wines to whiskey at very good prices.

Phanagoria Fortress

The fortress was built under the leadership of the great commander Suvorov to protect the borders from the Ottoman Empire in 1794. There is no fortress in its usual form, only the earthen rampart that served as its foundation has been preserved, therefore this landmark is also called "Suvorov Rampart", the three-pointed outlines of which can be seen from above, for example, on satellite maps. On the spot you will see just a field and a moat overgrown with grass, in which you will not recognize the former fortress in any way. Monument to the aviators of Taman

The monument is made in the form of a jet plane on a pedestal, rushing skyward. It is dedicated to the aviators who participated in the liberation of Taman in 1942-43. If you follow the path further from the road towards the seashore, skirting the lake, you will get to another less well-known monument dedicated to the Red Army soldiers who died during the Civil War. It is installed on the site of a mass grave, where there was a shooting in 1918. We recommend visiting the monuments during a trip to the winery or to the Chateau Taman store, it may not be worth going separately.

Salty Lake in Veselovka

This lake is a natural landmark, officially a natural monument "Lake Salty". It is a shallow bay of the Black Sea, separated by a sand spit 50-100 meters wide. In winter, water accumulates in it, and in summer it almost completely dries up and becomes covered with a crust, under which there is a therapeutic muddy mud saturated with trace elements.
