Grand Mosque of Limassol (Limassol Grand Mosque) - an interesting architectural and historical landmark, which until recently was the main place of worship for Muslims. But as of the beginning of 2020, it was closed for restoration, its further fate is unknown, and perhaps it will be demolished. But for now it can be examined from the side.
The mosque was built in the XVI century on the site and remains of an ancient Christian cathedral of the X century. Around mechenia there are several shrines of different religions that can still be seen. Also here is a colorful eastern quarter with narrow streets, and many cafes.
