Long Son Pagoda and Big sitting Buddha is one of the most beautiful and revered pagodas of the province. Almost every tourist who arrives Nhatrang necessarily visits it together with a sightseeing tour or independently, and this place is really worth a visit.

It was built in 1886 on Mount Trai Thuy. During a severe storm in 1900, the pagoda was severely damaged, and after rebuilding the temple, it was moved to the foot of the mountain, where it stands to this day. According to some reports, in 1963 there was a mass suicide of monks protesting against US policies that supported the regime of the first president of South Vietnam, Ngo Dinh Diem (Ngo Dinh Diem).

The complex is very beautiful, and if you do not hurry anywhere, you can spend at least an hour slowly strolling and relaxing in the shade of trees. From the pagoda up the stone steps you can climb the mountain, where there is a platform with a 14-meter statue of the White Buddha sitting in a lotus flower. It offers panoramic views of the city itself, in turn, and the pagoda is visible from almost every corner of the city.

Due to its popularity, it is always crowded: many monks and locals are ready to chat and make friends. There are, however, among the inhabitants and crooks who "catch" new tourists, and quietly and unobtrusively conduct tours of the pagoda with unsuspecting tourists, as if they were local employees. Then, for their services, they begin to demand a donation of a few dollars, of course, putting this money in their pocket, and not in the donation box. Beware also of disguised nuns who "sell" postcards to tourists in the form of tickets, despite the fact that the entrance to the pagoda and the ascent to the mountain to the Buddha is free.
