Crystal Bay Beach (Crystal Bay) is also known as Tongtakian (Thongtakian) or Silver Beach (Silver Beach). This is a relatively small beach with a length of less than 400 meters, while it fully claims to be one of the best. It is located on the east coast Koh Samui two kilometers from the northern tip of Lamai Beach (Crystal Bay beach on the map).

This is an isolated quiet beach, most often very sparsely populated. The reason for this is that all the entrances to it are closed by expensive hotels. At the same time, anyone can go ashore, not even a hotel guest. Thai hotels are legally prohibited from obstructing access to public beaches, so you can safely go through the reception and territory, and if you get lost, you can ask the staff for directions.

The coast itself is very beautiful, if not the most beautiful on the island. Its edges end in picturesque boulders, and palm trees and other greenery grow along the entire coast. Here is white, fine and very pleasant to the touch sand, perfect cleanliness. Although the beach is small, the bottom relief is different throughout it: there are deep places for swimming, and shallow water for children. Therefore, families with children, newlyweds, couples in love like to relax here.

On the beach itself there are several cafes and restaurants, beach entertainment. It is also one of the few places on Koh Samui where you can go snorkeling and diving right off the coast, and they say that you can even meet sea turtles here, but we cannot confirm this.

The stop here is very quiet and incredibly romantic. In addition, there are restaurants overlooking the sea, where you can have romantic dinners. Unfortunately, all evening entertainment in this area ends at restaurants.

As for the infrastructure in the area, except for hotels of medium and high price categories, there is nothing here, not even shops. However, the busiest part of Lamai Beach is very close by, and one has only to go along the ring road in its direction, after 5 minutes shops, markets, shops, exchangers and ATMs begin to come across.

Getting to Crystal Bay is easy not only by taxi or private transport, but also by Songteo minibus, since the ring road along which they travel runs close to the beach. From the northern part of Lamai, you can also walk here. To get ashore through a dense row of hotels, you need to go straight through their territory.
