Description and is it worth a visit
Tham Wai Cave Cave and cave temple is not a place for every tourist, but only for lovers of little–known places. To be honest, it is difficult to call it even a tourist attraction: there is no information about the history, values, and nothing is known at all. Moreover, some locals and tourists even believe that this cave and cave temple have long been gone. But we went to the place and made sure that everything was there.
The entrance to the cave is really overgrown and difficult to find. Although it is only a few dozen meters from the road and residential buildings, it is possible to recognize the path to it only with the help of local residents, or if you have experience of trackers and orientation. Indirectly, you can find the beginning of the trail by the old wooden signpost, which is not even fixed, but just lying in the bushes along the road when we were here. But maybe when you get there, there won't be these remnants of the sign, so just follow the exact coordinates that we have on the map, or ask for help from the locals.
From the road along the overgrown path to the entrance to the cave you need to walk 30-50 meters, it's very close. You need to look for an equipped entrance, such as in the photo:
Further along a very narrow passage, you can get into the cave for 30 meters, we did not dare to go deeper. Further, the passage already turns into a very narrow manhole, which can be overcome almost by crawling. There are a lot of mosquitoes inside, so take a spray. And, of course, you need a flashlight.
In a couple of online reviews that we found online about this cave, they say that there is a large cave with a Buddha statue in the depths. But this is not the case, and in fact the big Buddha is in another cave on the other side of this mountain in an unnamed cave temple, we also visited there and we tell you about it here. Although it is possible that this narrow passage eventually leads to that large hall with the Buddha, but it is much easier to get into it from the other side of the mountain. In the same cave there are only a few small Buddha figures.
