Description and is it worth a visit
There is one interesting place 25 kilometers from Chiang Rai that could rather be attributed to hotels or to a separate resort in Chiang Rai province. This is a special village of the Akha tribe. Rather, it is not really a village, but, one might say, a tourist camp, which was formed on the basis of the village. There are several guest houses, a camping area, a waterfall, tea plantations and mountains, all in one place. The center of all this is the Akha Hill House guesthouse (just do not confuse this place with the Akha Hill House Hotel, which is located within the city of Chiang Rai). The village even has its own website http://www.akhahill.com.
This village is located at an altitude of about 600 meters surrounded by mountains and forests, and allegedly founded by the inhabitants of the village of the Akha tribe. Whether this is true or not, we don't know for sure, but the atmosphere of a real village reigns in the village. Here you can stay in a bungalow like a village house and spend a few days in the atmosphere of a tribal village of northern Thailand. Around the camp within walking distance are: Huay Keaw waterfall, villages of other tribes, tea plantations, hot springs, elephant camp. Excellent trekking tours to the jungle with overnight stays are organized from here.
This camp village is not the only one of its kind in Chiang Rai, and if you wish, you can stay in other similar places, but know that this camp itself and most other similar ones belong to "surrogate" villages.

🚶 How to get there
Akha Hill House Village is located 25 kilometers from Chiang Rai in a mountainous wooded area (Akha Hill House on the map). As far as we know, group tours are not carried here, and you can't get there by taxi either. Therefore, you can only get there by rented transport or with a guide by agreement. Also, a transfer here can be arranged from the guest house, see the information on the official link above. If you go by yourself, then you need to take the road along the right or left bank of the Kok River to the Pha Soet hot springs, and turn off the road to the left near the Wat Phasoet Wanaram temple, there is a small wooden signpost. Then drive along the winding asphalt road to the village, where you will get to a gravel primer, and there turn right. After driving along the tea fields, you will get to the beginning of the trail to the Huay Kaew waterfall, and after it, after a few hundred meters, the village itself will be there. To get to its center, you will have to climb a very steep concrete road, so be careful. In general, in dry weather, you can get here by any car or motorbike, the difficulty is only this last climb.
To travel here in Chiang Rai, you can rent a car from 1000 baht (30.67 USD, money of Thailand, exchange rate) or motorcycle from 250 baht (7.67 USD), more details about transport in Chiang Rai told here...
