Description and is it worth a visit
Thalang National Museum in Phuket was founded in 1985 by His Majesty Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. It is dedicated to the history of Thailand, and, in particular, the history and modern life Phuket.
In total, there are 6 halls dedicated to different topics and different periods. The main hall at the entrance tells about the history of Thailand from prehistoric times to the present day. Gallery No. 1 is dedicated to the first settlers of the island and its natural resources. The second gallery tells about the famous battle with the Burmese invaders at Thalang. Gallery No. 3 tells about the Chinese roots of Phuket, and in the fourth about all the other nationalities of the island.
A separate exposition on the street in the courtyard of the museum is dedicated to the tsunami of 2004. If you don't know about it, you can mistake this part of the museum for a dump of old things. But in fact, they tried to recreate the consequences of the tsunami, namely what was left after it.
In general, the museum is interesting and informative: there are detailed inscriptions and explanations in English for the exhibits, a museum plan with a brief description is issued with a ticket. But the exhibition is small, the entire inspection will take no more than half an hour. What's worse, photography inside is prohibited.
