Where to walk in Sochi for tourists

If on vacation you like not only to sunbathe on the beaches, but also hiking, then almost all major resorts in Greater Sochi can find pedestrian zones. These are mainly embankments along the line of beaches, but there are also separate pedestrian zones with restaurants and cafes, retail outlets, attractions. Moreover, some pedestrian zones in Sochi can generally be safely classified as attractions.

Navaginskaya pedestrian street

Navaginskaya Street is the most famous place for walking in central Sochi. It stretches from the very center of the city in the area of the railway station to the Sea station and the embankment. Along it there is a gallery of cafes and shops, and the alley itself is decorated with palm trees, flower beds and sculptures, with which tourists love to be photographed. Approximately in the middle of this pedestrian zone is the flag Square with a fountain and a large open space, where children are happy to launch luminous toys from slingshots, rollerblades and scooters. Historic boulevard or upper embankment

Historical Boulevard is sometimes called "secret Boulevard", although, of course, there is nothing secret in it, and many tourists walk along it, not even suspecting that this is a landmark. In general, historically this place has always been called "upper embankment", and today a pedestrian route called "historical Boulevard" has been conditionally organized here. This is a walking route through the center of Sochi, which runs from the Sea station to the Winter theater, but not along the embankment, but parallel to it and a little higher. A few years ago, there were abandoned footpaths, but now they have been updated and equipped, signatures have been installed to historical sights and monuments, signs, route maps and even QR codes in the most interesting places so that you can get more information about them. Sochi Embankment

In our opinion, the central embankment of Sochi is no worse for walking than Navaginskaya street or historical Boulevard. In addition, in the last few years, this zone has undergone considerable changes for the better. Now there are no annoying fast food vendors and tourist trinkets, but there are recreation areas of increased comfort with yellow sand, benches for recreation, and even free toilets. Well, if you want to "shop" a little or have a snack, then this is also not a problem, you just have to go a little further from the shore to a parallel alley.

Sochi sea station and port area

The sea station is one of the architectural symbols of the city. The building of the sea station was opened in 1955, and the work was carried out under the supervision of famous Soviet architects K. S. Alabyan and L. B. Karlik. For tourists today, this is a beautiful majestic building, from where many tourist "adventures" begin, including pedestrian ones. So, here starts a new walking route along the historical Boulevard, from here begins the main embankment of Sochi and the city beaches. But the most interesting thing that distinguishes this pedestrian zone from others is the opportunity to walk along the pier of the port and look at beautiful yachts. Olympic Park

The Olympic Park is without exaggeration the largest attraction of Adler and the most famous place of the whole of Greater Sochi. This is the main entertainment park of Sochi with children's and extreme attractions, a ferris wheel, a dolphinarium, a crocodile show, a mini-aquarium, a Penguins, a mini-zoo, a butterfly tail, alleys for walking and Recreation, several mini-museums, a fear room. The park is very large in area (but not in the amount of entertainment), and going here with the whole family you should plan to spend half a day on it, and, of course, a lot of money if you decide to take advantage of attractions and entertainment. Imereti embankment

Imereti embankment is the longest and most comfortable among Sochi resorts, its length is almost 6 kilometers. Starting a walk from the mzimta river, you can walk along the beaches of the village of Sirius or the Imereti resort almost to the border with Abkhazia. It is great for hiking and cycling, but not all over it is equally developed. The most pleasant and well-equipped part is about 4 kilometers in the central part of Sirius. Loo Embankment

In the central part of the Sochi resort of Loo there is a moderately beautiful and equipped pedestrian promenade with a length of 500 meters. This is the main Walking place in loo, because the layout of the village itself is extremely inconvenient, and there are simply no other places for walking in it. Simple children's and adult attractions are located here, tour operators work, Afro-braids are woven, fast food, draft drinks and souvenirs are sold. Along the embankment passes the beach "Transparent", which periodically erodes storms, so buying here will not always work.

Lazarevskaya embankment

Along part of lazarevsky beach along Yantarnaya Street stretches a promenade with a length of about a kilometer. This is the main hangout and walking place in the area, where entertainment, cafes and restaurants, fast food, sale of excursions and other tourist services are concentrated. But, in our opinion, it is not very suitable for a leisurely promenade. The fact is that in the high season it becomes cramped and too fussy. Fast food vendors and sellers of excursions put their stalls on it, restaurants block the passage with tables, and "molesters" with photographing with animals and distributors of advertising products simply do not give passage.

Embankment of the Mzym River

This is a popular pedestrian zone for evening walks and shopping in Adler. It is located at the mouth of the Mzym River, and is located on the shore from Adler, while on the other bank across the pedestrian bridge lies the territory of the independent village of Sirius (until 2020, Sirius was part of Adler). The embankment of Mzymta does not differ in beauty and scope, its length is only a couple of hundred meters.
