Samara Luka National Park is the main natural attraction of the region. However, do not confuse Samara Luka with Zhiguli Nature Reserve, which, although located on the territory of Samara Luka, is an independent attraction with its own tourist routes.

The National Park occupies a significant territory-134 thousand hectares, framed by the bend of the Volga. On this territory there are Zhiguli mountains, the mountainous part of the park and plains, as well as water areas. The plant world has 1500 species of plants, there are 304 species of terrestrial vertebrates, 61 species of fish.

Tourists can visit the National Park on certain tourist routes for a nominal fee. Each of the routes is an independent attraction, or includes several interesting places at once. Shiryaevo Village

The village of Shiryaevo in itself is not an attraction, but in it and next to it there are several remarkable natural and man-made places that tourists visit. This is one of the few places in the Samara region, where local travel agencies even organize sightseeing tours. Also, many tourists visit these places on their own in the form of a one - or multi-day trip with an overnight stay in a tent or houses of local residents.

In Shiryaevo you can see the tunnels of Shiryaevo and Mount Popov, Mount Camel and its tunnels, go on a tourist route to the stone bowl and to the St. Nicholas spring. Camel Mountain is located three kilometers from the village of Shiryaevo in the Samara Luka National Park, is a popular natural attraction of the Samara region, and is known beyond its borders. The fact is that it is composed of limestone rocks and Dolomites, and is very well suited for mountaineering and rock climbing. Therefore, in the season there are always a lot of athletes and amateurs who come even from other regions, and at the foot of the mountain there is their spontaneous tent camp. Also, the mountain is known for the fact that there are tunnels in it, in which limestone used to be mined, but for many years now the work has stopped, and except for tourists and bats there is no one in the tunnels. You don't have to be a mountaineer or a rock climber to get to the top. There are at least two paths that anyone can climb.

Visiting the mountain is paid, since it is located in the paid zone of the Samara Luka National Park. Here you can stay in your tent in a tent camp at the foot of the mountain or on the banks of the Volga. Blue Lake

Blue lake in the Samara region is a unique natural formation, a natural monument of regional significance.

The diameter of the lake is about 50 meters, and the maximum depth is 28 meters. In the walls of the funnel of the lake there are passages through which hydrogen sulfide water comes from the depths of the Earth, giving the lake an unusual emerald-blue hue and an unpleasant smell of rotten eggs. At the same time, it is very transparent, and in sunny weather you can see the bottom. The water has a constant temperature all year round, about +8℃, and does not freeze even in winter.

Nearby there are two more small Sulfur Springs: Lake Black is larger than blue, and a very tiny sulfur lake. You can swim in the lakes, but drinking water or using it for treatment is not recommended. On the Blue Lake there is a convenient entrance for swimming. Zhiguli nature reserve

I. I. Sprygin Zhiguli state natural biosphere reserve it is located on the territory of the Samara Luka National Park, but is not part of it. It covers an area of 23.1 thousand hectares, on which grows about 1000 species of higher plants, of which 30 are endemic. Of these, 5 species are narrow endemics of Zhiguli, which are not found anywhere else. About 50 species are considered relict, about 200 plants are under special protection, 14 species are listed in the Red Book. The wildlife of the Reserve is also rich and diverse: there are over 200 species of birds, 48 species of mammals. 10 species are included in the Red Book of Russia.

Strelnaya Mountain

Strelnaya Mountain is considered to be one of the most interesting natural attractions of Samara Luka and Zhiguli Reserve. This is the second highest mountain in the Samara Luka National Park, its height is 351 meters, while the highest point of the Zhiguli mountains, Mount Observer, has a height of 375 meters.

You can visit the mountain yourself in the form of a tourist route for a fee, and only by car, on foot and even by bicycle do not miss. The road to the top is simple, takes 20 minutes. Along the way, you can get acquainted with the nature of the Reserve, and if you are lucky, you will see animals, but you should not count on much. At the very top, the trail turns into a pedestrian bridge connecting the observation decks, which offer wonderful views of the reserve, the Volga and part of Togliatti. In full, this museum is called The Park Complex of the history of Technology named after K. G. Sakharov, and popularly called simply the "Technical Museum of AvtoVAZ" (the old name). This is the most interesting Museum of the city and the real pride of Togliatti, and for good reason, because it is the largest Technical Museum in Europe. Here, on an open-air site on an area of 38 hectares, military and other equipment of the period of the USSR and Russia were placed, in total more than 450 exhibits. There are automobiles, locomotives, space vehicles, armored vehicles, airplanes, artillery, missiles, and even the world's largest diesel-electric submarine, the B-307. Exhibits can be touched, some of them climb and even climb inside, although theoretically the rules of the museum are prohibited. Bogatyrskaya Sloboda

The bogatyrskaya Sloboda spiritual and cultural Kremlin is a unique theme park dedicated to the theme of Russian heroes, the only one of its kind in the Samara region. Let's say right away that this is not an educational or historical object, you will not learn anything new here. But here you can have fun.

You can come here for adults and children for the whole day, you can stay and spend the night in tents or tents. The park is a wooden fortress in the old Russian architectural style, and occupies an impressive area of 21.5 hectares. Here you can shoot arrows, throw spears, throw axes and knives, participate or just watch fights, ride horses. You can also ride along the Volga on a boat made in the form of an old Russian Rook. Garibaldi Castle and park is a hotel and tourist complex in the village of Khryashchevka, 40 kilometers from Togliatti and 125 kilometers from Samara. The building of a beautiful castle in the Gothic style, as if transferred from somewhere in old England, is surrounded by a beautiful manicured park, statues. There is a fountain and a restaurant, and in summer there is a tent cafe. In winter, of course, there is no park with its beauties and a fountain.

🚶 How to get there: the complex is located in the center of the village of Khryashchevka, 40 kilometers from Togliatti and 125 kilometers from Samara (Castle on the map. This is a relatively new attraction of Samara and the region, previously known only to a narrow circle of local tourist enthusiasts and local residents of the neighboring village. Today, everyone can visit the tunnels, including excursions (so far unofficial). They are located at the base of the tip-Tyav mountain (sometimes called Tip-Tyaf) on the outskirts of Samara near the Sok River. In the middle of the last century, until 1980, large-scale lime mining was carried out here. According to various estimates, the length of the passages here is more than 40 kilometers, and therefore their visit is associated with certain risks. 🚶 How to get there: the tunnels are located on the outskirts of Samara at the confluence of the Sok river with the Volga. There are several entrances to them, the main one No. 1 is located on the side of the Sok river almost at Road level, here is its exact position on the map (main entrance Soka tunnels on the map. Nearby there is a dirt parking lot, from where you need to climb to the entrance just a couple of dozen meters along the trail. Other entrances for self-visits without experience are highly discouraged.

It is best to get to the main entrance by car, but if this is not possible, then you can take buses. Buses (minibuses) № 392, 389, 447, 113, 406, 79, 78 and others in the village of Volzhsky from the Frunze Glade and the main bus station often depart during the day, but do not go directly to the entrance to the tunnels. You need to get off at the stop "Post DPS", and from there to the entrance on foot a little more than a kilometer.

Across the entire Samara region stretches the largest attraction of the region-the Zavolzhsky historical shaft or Novo-Zakamsk defensive line, built in the early 18th century. According to the official version, the original defensive line was built in the 17th century to protect the eastern borders of the Russian state from the raids of the Kalmyks, Kirghiz and Bashkirs, and later, in the 18th century, it was further strengthened and rebuilt. 🚶 How to get there: The zavolzhsky earthen rampart runs through the entire Samara region, but one of the most convenient and preserved sections for inspection runs along the M5 highway (Moscow-Chelyabinsk) in the Krasnoyarsk and Sergievsky districts of the Samara region (fortifications on the map. It is best to visit it by private car, ideally you can combine its visit with a visit to Blue Lake.

Sernovodsk cave

Sernovodsk cave is located in the Sergievsky District of the Samara region near the resort town of Sernovodsk. This is a natural monument and the longest cave explored in the Samara region (573 meters). A colony of bats hibernates here.

The cave is not equipped for mass visits and does not represent anything special for ordinary tourists, but if you are a lover of all sorts of secrets and little-explored places, then you will be interested here. The entrance to it is small, only half a meter by two, but inside it expands. Its first Hall is so large that locals even organize picnics here. Theoretically, this is a nature protection zone, which has scientific and educational significance, and its visit without permission is prohibited, in practice, anyone can freely visit this place. The source of the icon of the mother of God "deliverer from troubles" appeared in 1917 on the steep slope of the ravine. According to legend, the place of the spring in dry years was indicated to a local resident by angels. In a dream, they showed her where the holy icon was buried, when the icon was dug up, a spring immediately gushed at that very place. A temple was built nearby, where the icon is now kept. It is believed that the water has healing power, which attracts believers and tourists to this place. There are two fonts, male and female, you can also take water with you.

Syzran Kremlin

This is the only Kremlin in the Samara region. It was founded in 1683, when the fortress city of Syzran was founded. The place for its construction was chosen on the highest hill at the confluence of the Syzranka river with the Volga for strategic reasons, since at that time the Russian lands were expanding to the south and East. The fortress was built of wood, with four wooden towers, and a single Spasskaya stone tower. Only it has survived to this day, and today it is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. Currently, the Museum of the Syzran Kremlin is located inside the tower, and the Church of the Nativity of Christ built in 1717 is also located on the territory. Holy spring in the village of Staroe Vechkanovo

In the vicinity of this village there are many springs, and one of them originates from the little Bazma River, which in translation from the Mordovian language means – "a river with a warm, muddy bottom, a swamp River". This source is considered holy, in connection with which a beautiful architectural complex has been erected here, which you do not expect to see in such a "wilderness". Many people come here for Epiphany, and on ordinary days it is quiet and peaceful. If you pass by on the M5 highway, you can stop here and collect consecrated water. Especially to go from Samara here is not worth it, too far.
