RussiaHoly Theotokos Kazan monastery or simply monastery in Vinnovka - one of the popular tourist attractions for a one-day trip in the Samara region and an important place for pilgrims. Tourists can come here on their own or with a one-day excursion by car or cruise ship along the Volga from Samara, which is interesting in itself. If you choose the river route, you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Volga Coast. And if you go by car, then on the way you can see one of the largest ravines of the Samara region Askulsky, and in the village of Osinovka the remains of an old church blown up in Soviet times but surviving. Near the monastery itself in the vicinity of the village you can visit the poklonny cross on a hill on the banks of the Volga.
This is a modern monastery, it was formed only in 2006 on the site of an ancient temple in the village of Vinnovka. As the story goes, the first wooden church appeared in the village in the second half of the XVII century. But the OP did not last very long and died in a fire in 1839. Over the next 10 years, a new Stone Temple was built. During the years of Soviet power, it was closed and used as a granary, and returned to the church only in 2003.
Today, the monastery complex consists of three churches: the Church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the mother of God, in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh, in the name of the Holy Trinity. At the monastery there is a shelter for pilgrims, and excursions are held for tourists. Tourists can freely move around the territory and visit temples, but you can not enter the premises for monks and administrative buildings. However, you will not be able to make a mistake and go wrong, since signs are installed in places prohibited for tourists.

🚶 How to get there: the monastery is located on the territory of Samara Luka in the village of Vinnovka, 120 kilometers from Samara and 50 kilometers from Togliatti (Monastery in Vinnovka on the map. At the same time, it does not belong to the territory of the Samara Luka National Park, i.e. it is unnecessary to pay for visiting the National Park.
You can get here yourself by private car or pleasure boat on the Volga River from Samara, as well as with excursions from Samara and Togliatti:
- By boat on the Volga. Several times a day, according to the schedule, pleasure boats depart from Samara to the pier in Vinnovka. The schedule allows you to sail to the monastery during the day, walk around it and the surrounding area, and return back the same day. The schedule changes seasonally, check it here - http://srpp63.ru/raspisanie. In winter, ships, of course, do not go. The fare is 120 rubles for adults, 60 rubles for children.
- By car. From Togliatti there is one option of the route through the dam of the Volga hydroelectric power station, but from Samara you can get there in two ways. The simplest, but longest, is a detour through Togliatti and the hydroelectric dam for 120 kilometers in one direction. Another option is to cross from Samara on a cargo ferry from 485 rubles per car to the village of Rozhdestveno, and from there take the dirt road to Vinnovka. In this case, the route will take a little more than 40 kilometers in one direction. In winter, it is theoretically possible to cross from Samara to Rozhdestveno by car on ice, but this is associated with the risk of falling through the ice, so you need to carefully monitor the information about the opening of the route.
- Excursions. In summer, bus tours are offered from Togliatti to Winnovka, and from Samara there are ready-made routes with a guide on motor ships.
