Directly in Uchkuyevka there is only one place that can be classified as an attraction – this is a modern and renovated park, which can be safely called the pride of the area. But you will not be bored on vacation here, because the area is part of the hero city of Sevastopol, which is very full of all kinds of historical sights and memorable places. Some of them are located on the north side of the city and are accessible on foot or by local buses (more about these places below). But most of the sights of Sevastopol are located on the other side of Sevastopol Bay, where you will have to cross by regular ferry from the Northern bus station / pier, which, however, will not cause any difficulties, since transport runs very often. In addition to interesting places directly in Uchkuyevka and in the city center, you can also go to on your own for one dayYalta, Simferopol, Bakhchisarai, Yevpatoria, Balaklava and cape Fiolent. To do this, you can use passing buses (to Yevpatoria, Bakhchisarai and Simferopol), or take a 10-minute city bus ride to the Northern Bus Station, and there transfer to suburban or intercity buses.

If self-organization of recreation is not suitable for you, you can buy ready-made excursions to almost any corner of the Crimea. Simple and inexpensive day trips and multi-day trips with overnight stays and hikes are offered. Uchkuyevka Park is one of the most pleasant and modern places for walking, recreation and sports not only in Uchkuyevka, but also in the whole of Sevastopol. The park was recently renovated, so if you were here a few years ago, now you will see a completely different place. So far, it is not very green yet, because a lot of plantings are very young, but there are well-equipped walking paths and recreation areas, free toilets, playgrounds, sports grounds and playgrounds for active recreation, and even a concert venue. And at the southern entrance to the park there is a historical and architectural landmark – a stone road sign on the route of Catherine the Great to the Crimea. In general, during your vacation in Uchkuyevka, you will probably spend most of your time off the beach right here, because there is nowhere else to walk in this area.

Museum of the 30th Armored Tower Battery

The museum in the battery was opened to visitors quite recently (October 2021) and is still in a state of decoration and tidying up. The 30th battery played an important role in the defense of Sevastopol during the Great Patriotic War, which lasted 256 days, and it is also the largest fortification of Sevastopol. Its visit is possible only with excursion service. You will be guided through the underground rooms to the Museum of Glory, ammunition depots and the artillery towers themselves on the surface, where you can walk. They will tell about the history and exploits of the personnel. The tour lasts about half an hour. It is recommended to take a warm jacket with you, as it may be cool in the rooms. 🚶 How to get there: The 30th battery is located on the north side of Sevastopol Bay on Battery Street, 5 in Lyubimovka village (30th battery on the map). You can take any bus in the direction of Lyubimovka, get off in the center and continue on foot.

This is an Orthodox church-monument at the Fraternal Memorial cemetery, one of the main architectural symbols of the city. Built in the middle of the 19th century. The architect specially chose an unusual shape for an Orthodox church – a pyramid. It is believed that the architect A.A. Avdeev, choosing this form, sought to convey the idea of eternity, borrowing it from the Egyptian pyramids. Anyway, the temple is worth it to get to it and see with your own eyes. 🚶 How to get there: the museum is located in Sevastopol, Nakhimovsky district. North side, on the territory of the Fraternal cemetery (temple on the map). It is about two kilometers from Uchkuyevka beach, so you can get there on foot.

Mikhailovskaya Battery Museum

The Military Historical Museum of fortifications Mikhailovskaya battery works in the fortress built in 1846. It was built as one of the 10 fortifications of Sevastopol. It received its name in honor of Prince Mikhail Nikolaevich, the son of Nicholas I. The exposition of the museum is large and contains about 5 thousand exhibits. The main part is devoted to the history of the Crimean War of 1853-1856. Among those worthy of special attention: the one-pood Unicorn cannon of 1838; uniforms, orders and insignia, weapons of the Ottoman Empire of the 19th century; a diorama of the Battle of Balaklava in 1854; 17 Utermark furnaces that heated the barracks; weapons and items from the Great Patriotic War and much more. 🚶 How to get there: Mikhailovskaya battery is located on the north side of Sevastopol Bay on Gromova Street, 35 near the pier of the city ferries "Radiogorka" (Mikhailovskaya battery on the map). To get to it from Uchkuyevka, first take any bus to the Northern bus station, and then transfer to bus No. 55 or walk a little more than a kilometer. You can also walk completely, you need to walk three kilometers.

Konstantinovskaya Battery Museum

The Konstantinovskaya Battery Museum and Exhibition complex operates in a fortress built in 1840, which was erected to protect the northern side of Sevastopol. It received its name in honor of Prince Konstantin Pavlovich, the grandson of Catherine II.A visit to the battery is provided only with an excursion escort, which lasts about one hour. You will be guided through the premises of the building and will be told about the history of the construction of the fortification; architectural features and engineering inventions that made it almost impregnable; heroic deeds shown by the Russian army in repelling attacks; other events related to the fortress from the moment of construction to the present day, and much more.
